I think sometimes about Tommy and Evan, a few years in. Maybe they're recently married. Maybe Tommy's hair is greying just a bit. I think about Tommy finding a baby left at his station while coming into work. I think about how that baby cries whenever it's in anyone else's arms other than Tommy's. I think about Tommy volunteering to stay behind that day to be with the baby until CPS comes.
I think about Athena filling Tommy in on the status of the baby's parents - Dad died before she was born; Mom, unfortunately, found herself in a car accident that killed her that morning after dropping the baby off. No other relatives. Nowhere to call home.
I think about Tommy looking at this baby girl and thinking about his own time in the system. When he wasn't with his father; when he was bounced around foster families and then group homes.
I think about Tommy having this ache for this baby the moment that he met her. This connection he never thought he would have. This yearning to be there for this small baby.
He wants this kid.
He wants to be there for her.
He wants - he wants to adopt her.
Which feels like too fast of a feeling.
Too soon.
I think about Tommy panicking in the back of his mind at the thought of that; wondering if this is even a good idea. If this would change the relationship he had with Evan. If Evan would want this so suddenly. If this would be the moment Evan realized that maybe Tommy's past fears were true; that Tommy wasn't the man Evan wanted to be with for the rest of his life; that Evan would leave Tommy for this.
Which are irrational thoughts.
Cruel thoughts.
Yet somehow, none of those thoughts stops Tommy from volunteering to watch the baby for a few days when the woman from CPS talks about having some issues figuring out a placement for the baby for the next few nights.
And.
Well.
Tommy should have asked Evan. He tries to warn Evan, but the warning goes to voicemail. Tommy goes home with this baby, unsure of whether or not Evan will be mad or confused or pissed that Tommy made this sudden life decision all on his own, even if it's only for a few days.
Tommy tells himself it will only be for a few days. Because how could it be for more?
And when Tommy gets home, he finds that Evan had swung around Maddie and Chimney's place to steal Jee's old crib and was currently putting it back together. Evan apologizes; he thought he sent a text back and - and he sees the kid too.
And.
Tommy doesn't know if it's the same instant connection, but Evan's always been good with kids. He seems happy to take care of her.
And.
Well.
The baby isn't easy. She's crying and up at weird hours and she would be an absolute nightmare if she wasn't so cute; so sweet in the moments of reprieve.
Evan doesn't seem to complain about it.
And.
And maybe Tommy falls more in love with the baby even with the challenges. He really does. He has trouble leaving the kid alone. He just wants to be around her and make sure she's happy and okay.
And.
It gets to the point where Evan notices something because it's Evan who reminds Tommy reluctantly that they're only keeping her for a few days as CPS sorts out a good placement for the baby. A few days that had already turned into almost a week.
And.
That was when.
Tommy said it.
That maybe he didn't want to have her temporarily. Maybe - maybe he wanted her for as long as they could have her.
Which.
Throws Evan for a loop. Not necessarily in a bad way, but it wasn't exactly something that he had expected. At least, not right then. With them both in jobs that don't exactly have the best hours for raising a kid. They thought they would probably be older parents if they decided to be parents later on.
Well.
Tommy would already be an older parent as is.
But Evan talks about how they probably couldn't adopt her if they both stayed firefighters.
And.
Well.
Tommy proposes that maybe he won't be anymore.
I think about Tommy telling Evan this. How Evan would be confused and tell Tommy that he doesn't have to do that; that this is his career too. But Tommy has been thinking about this for a while.
And.
Tommy's goals have never really been career-oriented. He just wants a family. A home. Loved ones. People who care for him as much as he cares for them.
Not like Tommy can't pivot into piloting or part-time EMT work. Hell, even fire inspector work.
Tommy could fly in his off time. He could save people in other ways.
There is only one baby. This one. Only her. He wants this. He really does.
And.
Tommy's not sure. He's not sure if Evan's exactly okay with that explanation. He isn't sure if Evan is okay with Tommy turning his life upside down for this small baby he met only a week ago. Hell, Tommy's not even sure if Evan is prepared for this; if he even wants this as much as Tommy; if he even wants this to begin with.
But.
But Evan looks at the baby.
And he looks at Tommy.
And there is something there; something there as Evan asked Tommy if he is really serious about this. If he is really sure that is what he wants to do. If this is the leap he wants to take.
And there is no reluctance.
There is no faltering.
Tommy says he does.
He wants this.
And.
Evan nods.
He looks between Tommy and this new baby that has become part of their lives.
And he says that they will figure this all out, then.
And maybe later, a year from that fateful night, Tommy and Evan are in their bed together as Evan confesses that he had been worried when they first decided to take in the baby.
He was worried about if they could do it. If it would be a bad idea for Tommy to reduce his hours like that. If Tommy would grow resentful of the change and how Evan was still a full-time firefighter. He was worried that whatever big beginning feelings Tommy had would wane and they would have this kid that Tommy had gotten from the spark of initial meetings alone.
Evan was worried that he wouldn't catch up to Tommy.
That he wouldn't connect with her like Tommy did. Because there was a connection, Evan saw it the moment Tommy walked into their home with the baby. And Evan hadn't quite had that at first. It took a little time for Evan to feel that connection and he felt a little guilty to admit that; a little ashamed.
But he loves her so much now.
And - and Evan sees how much happier Tommy is with her. Semi-retired and taking care of their girl.
He's happy that Tommy pushed for it; to have this baby in their lives. Evan can't imagine a world without her now.
And.
And Tommy is just happy.
I think about Tommy talking about how lonely he was before Evan. Friendly with everyone, good friends to no one. No family. No love life. Just him and his hobbies and his career.
A constant cycle of distraction, distraction, distraction.
And then.
The cruise incident.
And so much of Tommy's life changed. He had people he actually called friends. He had a support system in a way he never had before. He had that family he had been searching for his whole life.
And he found all of that with Evan.
This is Tommy's happiness. Friends. Loved ones. Family. And he found it with Evan. And he can barely believe he has this. Has Evan. Has their girl.
Sometimes, I think about that as one of the happiest endings Tommy could have. A lonely man who distracted himself with work and hobbies finding himself surrounded by family; choosing family.
I don't know.
I think about that sometimes.

If you’re still taking prompts, Tommy spending time with Maddie?
Oh I like this!
----
"At least this time it was planned." Maddie offered
"Yeah... And the nurse did say everything is going according to plan earlier."
"But you still worry."
"Yeah." Tommy chuckled. "I convinced him to get it done now so he'd be back on his feet by the time the little one starts walking."
Maddie smiled and rubbed her pregnant belly.
"Yeah I think he is looking forward to meeting his family. He's about to walk right out of there in a minute. Jee wasn't this restless."
"I guess he takes after his father then. I've never known Howie to be calm and relaxed." Tommy commented "Well... off the clock at least." he added after a beat and they both laughed.
They sat in silence for a few minutes, drinking bad hospital coffee and Tommy's eyes fixed on the door.
"What about you two?" Maddie asked.
"Hmm?"
Tommy reluctantly tore his eyes away from the door and looked at her.
"One of these." she gestured at her belly.
"I don't think either of us is at risk of getting pregnant any time soon." Tommy deadpanned and laughed when Maddie slapped his bicep.
"You know what I mean. Am I going to be an aunt any time soon?"
Tommy sat up straighter and played with the lid of his coffee cup.
"We've talked about it. Marriage, kids... the whole nine yards... and we want the same things..."
"But..." Maddie prompted.
"But... not just yet." Tommy shook his head. "We've only been back together about six months. And the last time we rushed into things it didn't go so well. So one step at a time for now."
"Isn't he moving in with you when he's discharged?"
"Yeah but that's because he's going to need a lot of help. Especially the first few months. And those stairs in the loft are lethal."
"He managed before..."
"Maybe. But he doesn't have to anymore now. I have a bedroom and a bathroom on the ground floor at my place and the stairs aren't so damn steep, he can easily manage them with crutches if needed."
Suddenly the door opened and one of the doctors walked up to them.
"Evan Buckley's family?"
Tommy was on his feet in seconds.
"That's right. How is he?"
The doctor gave him a tired smile.
"The operation was a success. No complications. Straight out of the medical text books."
"So he's ok?"
"He has a long road to recovery ahead of him, but I don't see why he shouldn't make a full recovery in due time." The doctor told them. "He'll still be asleep for a while, but one of the nurses will come get you when they've gotten him settled back in, in his room and you can sit with him."
Tommy let out a sigh of relief while Maddie thanked the doctor before they left the two of them to it again.
"He's ok." Maddie said, slipping her arm through Tommy's. "He's ok."
About ten minutes later a nurse came to get them and took them to Buck's room. He was still fast asleep but apart from a pulse oximeter on his finger and a cast on his leg, he looked just like he would on a regular day at home.
Tommy sat down next to the bed and softly brushed the curls off his forehead, while Maddie sat down on the other side and held Buck's hand in hers.
"You know he always hated that?"
"Hated what?"
"His curls. People playing with them." Maddie explained. "I used to do it when he was little but when he got old enough to pick his own hairstyle, the curls were gone and everyone was forbidden to touch his hair. I think I still have some pictures of when he gave himself a haircut when he was about 12 or 13."
Tommy grinned.
"If you can still find them, I'd love to see them."
"I'll get Howie to look for them." Maddie promised. "But what I'm trying to say is... he's changed since he met you. For the better."
"I did tell him I liked the curls once... He hadn't had time to get a haircut in a while and his hair was getting longer and the curls just made him look... soft." Tommy smiled, running his hands through Buck's hair.
Maddie smiled.
"Not just the hairstyle. Or wearing clothes in his actual size instead of at least two sizes too small." She laughed. "But he's... more comfortable in his own skin. He's content. Happy in a way I've never seen him before. And that's down to you."
"I don't know about that..." Tommy ducked his head.
"I do." Maddie insisted. "You're good for him. You're good for each other."
Buck began to stir and groaned as he opened his eyes. He rolled his head to the side and smiled when he saw Tommy.
"Hey you." Tommy said and got up to press a kiss to the top of his head. "Welcome back. How are you feeling?"
"Hmokay... better when the room stops spinning... and there's only one of you. is my leg still there?" he reached out to touch his leg and then realised someone was holding his hand. He turned his head and saw his sister. "Maddie!" he said happily, like he hadn't seen her in years.
"Hi." she giggled and squeezed his hand. "They've got you on the good stuff, huh."
"They fixed my leg." he explained. "Tommy said I should do it now. For the baby." He frowned. "Not our baby." He turned his head back to the other side to look at Tommy. "You're not having a baby... right?"
Tommy bit his lip to stop himself from laughing.
"No, no I'm not. But your sister is."
Buck turned back to Maddie.
"You're having a baby?" he asked, and then noticed her pregnant belly. "You're having a baby! Wait... i-is that Tommy's baby?"
"What? No!" Maddie said and both her and Tommy burst out laughing. "I don't think I'm really his type."
"Yeah, sorry, I prefer the other Buckley." Tommy said laughingly.
Buck frowned.
"Who?"
"You." Tommy told him and softly kissed him. "I'm going to get a nurse. Let them know you're awake. I'll be right back." He got up and left the room with Buck looking at him with a dopey smile that wasn't just the anaesthetic.
"I love him." Buck declared, still looking at the door.
Maddie smiled and gave his hand another squeeze.
"I know. He loves you too."
"Yeah? Yeah!" Buck replied answering his own question. "I'm going to marry him. I have a ring." he said, just as Tommy came back in with a nurse.
"Hello mister Buckley, glad to see you awake." the nurse told him as she quickly checked him over. "The operation went well, and you should be able to go home in a few days."
Buck nodded and turned to Maddie.
"You need to call Eddie for me. He has the ring. I need it... for Tommy. I'm going to marry him."
"I'll call him." Maddie promised. sharing a look with Tommy over the bed.
"Good. I'm just... sleep..." Buck mumbled as he started to drift off again.
"He probably won't remember this conversation when he wakes up again." the nurse told them. "I'm guessing you're Eddie?" she asked Tommy who shook his head.
"I'm Tommy. And I guess I better start working on my surprised face."

50 Ways To Say Goodbye
911 x fem!reader
5k word count
Summary The 911 helps you escape your abusive ex but in true 118 dumb, dumb stile they create a bigger problem that Athena has to fix.
fluff, idiots
Warnings mention and description of death, domestic abuse and self-harm.
Note: I've been working on the next part of The Dating Oddessey while listening to some music. 50 Ways To Say Goodbye by Train came on and gave me this idea. Didn't quite turn out how I wanted but its still pretty funny. Also you could take this to mean either Eddie or Buck has feelings for you. Not how I intended it but it's how it came out.
...
Today you had finally done it. You had finally worked up the courage to break up with your horrible excuse for a human ex Bradley. You made sure to break up with him while he was working so you had witnesses. The last thing you needed was him gaslighting you back into the relationship like last time. With witnesses, it was harder for him to say the breakup never happened.
Today had been planned out for weeks. Your best friends, Eddie and Buck, had been helping you slowly remove your stuff from his house for the last month and taking it to your Dad's place. You did have much, after all, Bradley didn’t allow you to have much. He had to control everything from the furniture to the decorations and even the food kept in the house.
Outside Bradley's workplace Buck and Eddie were waiting for you in Eddie's truck. Your Dad, Bobby, was their boss and had given them the day off to play bodyguard for you. When you walked out the front door with Bradley storming after you both boys were fast to jump out of the truck and jog towards you. Eddie wasn’t going to let him hurt you anymore and Buck didn’t want what happened to his sister Maddie to happen to you for that reason Eddie had hidden a lot of what Bradley had done to you from all your friends and even your Dad. Eddies had been the house you would hide in for days at a time while waiting for bruises to heal. Eddie had been the person to give you that final push you needed to leave.
“What if next time he kills you y/n? Did you think of that?” Eddie slammed his fist onto his kitchen counter as you held a bag of frozen peas to your soon-to-be black eye. “Do you have any idea what that would do to me? To Chris? Hell, think about your father and Athena. The rest of our friends. We all love you y/n and yet you keep allowing yourself to be treated like shit. You know what if you're going to go back to him this time then I don’t want you in my house, take your things and leave” Eddie had left the kitchen, leaving you standing there shocked to your core. It scared you. More than the beatings. You didn’t want to lose Eddie as your friend, you didn’t want to hurt him or Chris, your family, your friends. Eddie was right enough was enough.
After that night you had come clean with everyone about what was happening. Athena was quick to offer up their spare room for you and Bobby wouldn’t take no for an answer. Eddie and Maddie had to keep Buck distracted at all times until your items were moved out of Bradley's house because he threatened to kill the guy if he laid eyes on him. So when Buck and Eddie saw him coming up fast behind you screaming at you Eddie made sure to direct Buck to get you out of the way. Buck was quick to slide an arm around your waist and guide you quickly to Eddie's truck. Eddie blocked Bradley from coming any closer to you. You couldn’t hear what was said between the two of them but whatever Eddie said had Bradley ducking back into his building quickly. Eddie waited until the building doors closed behind Bradley before walking back to the truck. He didn’t speak once he started the truck nor did he speak for the entire trip to your Dads. His white knuckles gripped the steering wheel the whole drive there. Their conversation was something that had pissed him off. Once at your Dad's, you excused yourself to go lay down. The day had left you physically and mentally exhausted.
“It’s okay baby you go rest, your Dad wants to cook you something special for dinner so I’ll come get you when his home and cooking, okay” Athena gave you a loving smile.
You made your way to the spare room and quickly made yourself comfortable on the bed. As you lay there you could hear Athena talking with Buck and Eddie.
“She’ll be safe here, trust me if that guy comes anywhere near this house he can consider himself arrested” Athena said
“How long does it take for someone like him to just leave a person alone?” Buck asked
“Some give up after a few days, some a few weeks, months, years, some never quit” Athena sighed “But this guy I’d say as soon as he has a new target he’ll leave her alone”
“Athena…” Eddie was cut off by someone banging on the front door. Before anyone could move to open the door what could only be described as a stampede echoed through the house. Heavy boots took staircase steps 2 at a time until the fanfare came to an end in the kitchen where Athena, Eddie and Buck still stood in shock at the interruption. Stood before them in full uniform fresh from a call were Bobby, Chimney, Hen and Ravi.
“What in the world are you lot doing in my kitchen?” Athena asked frustration lacing her voice
“Did you get y/n?” Chimney ignored Athena looking straight at Eddie and Buck
“y/n is trying to rest which she won’t be able to do with you lot acting like a bunch of zoo animals” Athena crossed her arms over her chest looking at them all like a disappointed mother.
“So what's the plan from here how do we keep her ex from intimidating her back into a relationship with him” Hen asked keeping her voice just above a whisper partly to keep from disturbing y/n but mostly to appease Athena.
“Well, to start Maddie and I are going to take her out for the day tomorrow, take her mind off all this” Athena motioned around the room.
“Then starting the day after I’ve adjusted our rosters so someone can be here with her around the clock in case he shows up here” Bobby spoke up
“Unfortunately, someone here invited him over for dinner so he knows exactly where we live” Athena threw an accusatory look at Bobby.
“Maybe she should come to stay with me he has no idea where I live” Eddie offered up.
“No she’s safer here with Athena” Bobby said “Any sign of trouble and Athena can have the entire LAPD on our doorstep” Bobby smiled at Athena.
“A Mumma has to protect her babies” Athena smiled back at Bobby. “And besides, he knows all of us and he will likely stalk all of us to get to her”
“So what are we supposed to do just wait for him to lose interest” Buck spoke up frustrated with the situation “I mean you said it yourself Athena it could take years”
“Or days or weeks or months, the only guaranteed way to get rid of him quick is if y/n died, it’s the only way I’ve seen his type leave their victim alone for good” Athena said. The 118 shared a look, a look of mischief, of a united thought on how to get rid of this threat to their family. Athena knew immediately what they were thinking and quickly began shaking her head and looking between them.
“Don’t you even think about it” Athena pointed a stern finger at each person standing in her kitchen. “You’ll be causing more problems than what you’ll solve”
…
Despite Athena's warning the 118 decided as a family that if ‘the asshole’ as they affectionately dubbed him showed his face to any of them they would warn him to back off and if he wouldn’t listen they would tell him y/n was dead. It seemed like the perfect plan until it wasn’t.
The first person to meet him face to face was Chimney. It was 4 days after Eddie and Buck had taken you to live with Bobby and Athena. It was Eddie's day off. He had taken you out for lunch, then you picked Christopher up from school before heading back to Eddies to hang out. Eddie asked if you wanted to stay for dinner and a movie. Christopher who overheard the offer from where he sat in the dining room doing his homework practically begged you to stay. You called Athena to let her know you were going to be out late with Eddie and that he was going to drive you back when the movie ended. Christopher was old enough after all to stay home alone for the 20 minutes it would take Eddie to drop you home.
Because of this, it was Chimney who got stuck working late at the firehouse. He was the last to leave after finishing off all the small boring end-of-shift jobs like making sure all the dinner dishes were done and the ambulance restocked for the next shift. Bradley had been parked across the road from the station all day watching the team come and go. Your little stunt at his office had cost him his job. He was going to make you pay and he had all the time in the world to make it happen. He waited and counted off your friends as they left. He wanted to make sure that he followed the last person to leave because he knew if he risked following anyone else the rest of your friends would know and his plan would be ruined. He noticed after the first three calls of the shift that one of the guys he had seen you out the front of his office with wasn’t on shift today. He decided it was likely that guy's fault you left him. You’d probably been seeing him behind his back all along. He’d make him pay too. He counted them out one by one as they left the firehouse, first, it was the other guy he’d seen at his office and some Middle Eastern-looking dude. Then that black woman he’d seen you hang out with left. Next was your father. He almost forgot to wait to see him. He wanted to chase him down and run him over with his car but he held it together. He knew there was one more person left. The little Asian guy. When he hadn’t come out after 30 minutes he almost thought he went home earlier and he’d missed him. That was until Chimney walked out of the 118 firehouse almost 45 minutes after his shift had finished. He was talking away on his phone not paying attention to his surroundings creating the perfect situation for a stalker.
He followed Chimney from the firehouse to one of those 24-hour corner stores. He followed him in close behind, waiting until Chimney was alone in the back of the store. As luck would also have it there were no security cameras in sight. While Chimney was distracted looking at the small selection of diapers the store carried, he took his chance. Before Chimney could respond, he had grabbed him by the shoulder and had him pinned against the diaper shelves he was just looking at.
“Where is she?” He asked aggressively.
“Who?” Chimney asked shocked but trying to remain calm. He knew exactly who he wanted.
“Y/n” He held back from yelling in Chimney's face.
“Y/n? You…you mean you haven’t heard?” Chimney tried his best at putting on a distraught face even willing a few tears to fall.
“Heard what?” He loosed his grip on Chimney.
“I’m sorry man, she… she's dead” Chimney said softly trying to lace his voice with sadness.
“What no! What happened?” He aggressively slammed Chimney back against the shelves.
“The night Eddie and Buck picked her up from your place she slit her wrists in Bobby and Athena's bathroom” Chimney made himself sob.
Bradley shook his head in disbelief and ran from the shop. Once out of sight, Chimney let a massive grin break out on his face and he let out a proud chuckle. He grabbed diapers and practically skipped to the counter with them. He was so proud of himself and his lie. He knew if Bradley went looking to see if it was true he would see there had been a call out to Bobby and Athenas that night. It hadn’t been for you thought. Buck being the massive cluts that he is had managed to get his foot stuck in the bin beside the toilet while changing out a light bulb in the sconce above the sink which had stopped working while he was using the toilet. While trying to get the bin off his foot he slipped on the bath mat and fell smacking the back of his head with a loud yet hollow-sounding thunk on the sink, Luckly for Buck he has a thick skull and came out of it with a sore bum, ankle and head and a bruised ego. They still had him taken to the hospital because even though the injuries weren’t that bad he still needed to be cleared of any major head injury before returning to work.
…
2 days later by chance, he ran into Hen. It was her day off and she was about to come pick you up to go out to the movies but first, she had to run some errands. Bobby wanted to have a barbecue at his place to celebrate family and new beginnings. She was grabbing a few things to take with her when he spotted her. She was about to walk into the supermarket when he walked out. Seeing Hen he decided to take the chance to confirm what Chimney had told him. He grabbed Hen who was distracted by the shopping list on her phone and pulled her to the side of the door.
“What do you think you're doing? Get your hands off me!” Hen snapped.
“I’m sorry I just want to talk” He sighed.
“What do you want?” Hen asked crossing her arms over her chest,
“Is it true?” He asked.
“Is what true?” Hen asked.
“Is she dead?”
“I’m afraid so” Hen dropped her head.
“No, no it can’t be” He looked at the ground.
“If it means anything she didn’t suffer” Hen put a hand on his shoulder. When he looked up at her confused Hen was quick to drop her hand back by her side. “There was nothing anybody could do for her. I can assure you she died the second the car made contact with the semi, she wasn’t even aware of the fire”
“A car accident?” He stumbled backwards. He ran away from Hen and made his way into the parking lot. The groceries he had brought were abandoned on the ground. Hen passed a confused look to the parking lot, shrugged and continued with her day. She knew if he went looking he would find a two-vehicle collision between a truck and a car. Y/n was nowhere near the accident but the 118 had responded to the accident so if he looked it up he wouldn’t be able to accuse them of lying.
…
The very next day Ravi saw Bradley hanging out across the street watching the fire house. Ravi would have run off and grabbed Bobby but he was at home spending time with you. Ravi took a quick look around but couldn’t spot any other members of the 118 to alert. Ravi decided that he was going to have to do something about it himself. He jogged across the road and stood beside Bradley's car. He positioned himself in such a way that if anything should happen anyone watching on in the firehouse would be able to see both Ravi and Bradley in the car. Ravi through a look back at the firehouse and then turned his attention back to Bradley.
“Any reason you're watching the firehouse?” Ravi asked faking a smile trying to pretend that he didn’t know who the man in the car was. “Are you interested in working for the LAFD? I could get you some information if you want to come inside” Ravi motioned towards the firehouse with an outstretched hand.
“Oh no, I was just hoping someone could help me get some information on a friend” Bradley put a fake smile on his face.
“No problem sir if you want to come inside I can set you up in the captain's office and we can all have a couple of officers down to help you” Ravi never once let the smile on his face falter.
“I don’t want to be a bother” If he stepped foot in the firehouse he knew he would be recognised by the other members of the 118. “My friends' name is Y/n Nash I believe you know her, she’s the fire captain's daughter”
“Oh y/n, yeah I knew her, um the captain is actually off today, I guess you’re here for the funeral?” Ravi let his smile drop. He tucked his hands into his pockets, rocked back on his heels and looked at the ground. “I could get you the funeral details if you want”
“No, no it’s fine, when did she die? How did she die? I mean last time I saw her she was healthy, she seemed happy” Bradley knew he was baiting Ravi. He’d already been told two different things. Either your whole team was messing with him or you were messing with them. Either way, he was going to figure it out and track you down. And when he found you he was going to make you pay.
“Uh she…she was involved in a hit and run, Cap had to decide to turn off her life support. The doctors said she had almost no chance of recovery any way” Ravi looked up to the sky knowing if he looked Bradley in the eyes he might break and smile.
“I’m so sorry to hear that, I was just in town and thought I would stop in for a minute but I wouldn’t want to be a burden, pass my condolences on to Bobby” Bradley gave Ravi a small smile and pulled away from the firehouse. When he was out of sight Ravi fist-bumped the air and jogged back into the firehouse. As far as Ravi was concerned that was the last time he thought any of you would hear from him. Bradley on the other hand had only gathered more evidence that the 118 was potentially lying to him.
…
Early the next morning Bradley stalked Eddie to his usual running path. He waited until Eddie was on a particularly quiet portion of the track, hidden from the eyes of the public by bushes and trees. He blocked Eddie's path not allowing him to step around him. Eddie the second he laid eyes on Bradley wanted to punch his lights out but he held his composure. Eddie placed some distance between himself and Bradley before speaking up.
“What the hell do you want?” Eddie said voice laced with anger.
“I just want to know what happened to y/n” Bradley put his hands up in surrender.
“You have no right to ask about her” Eddie snapped “She was so happy until you came along, you broke her down, you isolated her from us, you’re the reason…” Eddie choked on his words. A mixture of real and fake emotions was flowing through Eddie. He was so upset and caught off guard that he almost went off the script. “You’re the reason shes dead”
“Now Edmundo I don’t believe that for a second” Bradley smirked at Eddie
“Look in my eyes and tell me I’m lying” Eddie growled, “I carried her lifeless body out of her parent's house after she blew her brains out with her mother's gun, I begged and pleaded with god and anyone who would listen to bring her back to me, to us.”
“No, no… you're lying!” Bradley yelled backing away from Eddie.
“She killed herself because we wouldn’t let her go back to you, maybe we should have, maybe if we did she’d still be here” Eddie's gaze dropped to the ground. The next thing Eddie heard was the sound of someone running away from him. He looked up to see himself once again alone. A smile broke out on his face as he continued with his run. He couldn’t wait to finish up his run, get home, shower and get to work. The only thing that was going to top this was having dinner with you, Buck and Chris tonight. Bradley on the other hand was not so sure what was going on. He found himself confused. Everything Eddie said seemed so genuine. Maybe Bobby and Eddie had told the rest of the team different things to keep them from knowing what happened. He hadn’t seen you around since that day in the office not even with Eddie and Buck even though he knew you’d always run off to them in the past. Still, he had two more people to ask and he wasn’t going to stop until he got the truth.
…
That afternoon he followed Bobby into a butcher as he looked for the perfect cuts of steak and his favourite burger patties for the weekend during some downtime between calls. He wanted this BBQ to be reminiscent of the BBQs that you had when you were a kid even though, Mum, Robbie and Brook weren’t here anymore and you’d felt like he had tried to replace them with Athena, May and Harry. You’d grown to love them like Bobby did and accepted them as your family. Bobbys plans came to a halt when Bradley grabbed him by the arm and spun him to look at him. Bobby went from shocked to furious in seconds. Bradley could tell immediately that Bobby was not impressed to see him.
“I’m not trying to start anything” Bradley puts his hands up in defence “I just need to know…”
“Need to know what?” Bobby snaps crossing his arms across his chest making himself larger and more intimidating.
“Is she dead?” He asked.
“My daughter? My child who you destroyed so completely that she couldn’t see her self-worth. Yes, she’s dead and it's all your fault” Bobby was now shaking with anger, his arms hung limp at his side and his gaze had met the floor. “I had to scrape her brains off every surface of my guest room, all my children are now gone, I couldn’t save any of them, what kind of father can’t protect his children?” Bobby looked up to where Bradley had been standing to find that he at some point had run off. Bobby looked around the empty store and shrugged. Had he been a little overdramatic sure but he didn’t think he’d been that bad. With a smile plastered on his face, he went back to picking out the steaks for the weekend and hoped that would be the last time he would have to see Bradley.
…
The next morning Buck found himself running late for his shift. Chris insisted on watching a movie with everyone the night before but fell asleep not 15 minutes into the film despite insisting to Eddie that he was not sleepy at all. Eddie carried Chris to bed and decided that since the movie had started you might as well watch it. It was one of your and Chris's favourites. Eddie was sick of watching the movie on repeat and Buck had somehow had the blessing of not being subject to FernGully until now. After the movie, Buck drove you home. This meant he didn’t get home until almost 11 pm and he had to be at the station at 7 am. Bradley had spotted Buck on his drive home and decided to camp out the front of Buck's apartment building for the night. When Buck stumbled out the front door in a rushed mess the next morning Bradley was there to greet him.
“I’m not here to start a fight, I just need answers” He held his hands up in defence.
“What the hell do you need answers for?” If looks could kill Bradley would be dead with how Buck looked at him.
“I just want to know if y/n is dead” Bradley moved further back from Buck out of fear of getting hit.
“Dead” Buck yelled and got so close to Bradley that their chests were almost touching “Why do think it’s any of your business to know what’s happening with y/n?”
“I just heard rumours and wanted to know” Bradley flinched away from Buck.
“You wanted to know? You wanted to know?” Buck looked away and scoffed “Yes she’s dead alright, she killed herself, you have no idea what it’s like to be called out to a scene where someone you love has killed themselves, to see their blood all over and know that nothing you can do will save them. To see them choking on their blood as it spills out of their open throat”
Bradley had gone pale, so pale that Buck thought he was going to faint. For a split moment, Buck felt bad, made be he had been too harsh and taken things too far. Bradley quickly crossed back across the road to his car and took off before any more words could be exchanged. Buck shrugged and quickly made his way to work running even more late now. But that was normal for Buck so he knew no one would question him and he wouldn’t have to tell anyone about running into Bradley.
…
Finally, Saturday rolled around 2 days later. You had been kept busy all morning by Athena who had you help put out her good wine glasses, set the table for lunch, and do other small tasks. Eddie, Christopher and Buck had shown up around 10 am because Chris was too impatient and excited to hang out with his favourite person. You were so distracted with Chris that before you knew it, the rest of the 118 had arrived. Bobby and Buck were manning the BBQ, Chris was off playing with Danny and Mara, Hen, Chimney, Ravi, Karen and Maddie were busy talking among themselves. Athena was busy drifting around the kitchen while Eddie stood outside next to you watching the kids play.
“I’m glad you left him” Eddie broke the silence.
“Me too” You smiled up at him “Thank you for knocking some sense into me”.
“Okay everyone lunch is ready!” Bobby called bringing a tray of meat into the dining room.
Everyone sat around the table. Athena had set the kids up at their table out in the yard which made them think they were the coolest kids ever. She even gave them their plastic wine glasses to drink juice from. You were in the middle of one of the greatest lunches you’d ever had when there was an overly aggressive knock on the door. Before Athena or Bobby could move to answer the door someone yelled through the front door.
“I know you're all in there, I want answers and I want them now!” Bradley screamed through the door.
“What in the world?” Athena looked towards the landing where the front door was.
“What’s he doing here?” Buck looked around the table.
“I guess this means the plan didn’t work” Chimney looked between everyone.
“What plan?” Athena looked at Chimney.
“Uh, well, uh, Bobby do you want to explain it” Chimney looked to Bobby.
“You brought it up” Bobby motioned back to Athena.
“What plan?” Athena stood up, crossed her arms and started tapping her foot.
The 118 shared panicked glances while you, Maddie and Karen looked around the table confused.
“Robert Wade Nash you better start speaking or so help me god you’ll be sleeping at the firehouse tonight” Athena levelled her attention on Bobby.
“We might have told him y/n was dead” Bobby said
“Dead” Athena looked around the table “After I told you not to tell him that you went and did it anyway”
“Well in all fairness Athena I was the one who told him she was dead” Buck admitted looking at his plate.
“You? No, I told him” Chimney jumped in.
“Wait but I told him she was dead like a week ago” Hen added. “Oh god what have we done”
“One at a time, how did you all say she died” Athena asked the table.
“Slit her wrists,” Chimney said
“Hit and Run,” Ravi said
“Car accident,” Hen said
“Shot herself with your gun,” Bobby said
“Slit her throat,” Buck said
“Same as Bobby,” Eddie said
You, Maddie and Karen, were trying to hold it together despite all having a bad case of the giggles. Athena was done with the entire 118 at this point and it was clear from the look on Bobbys face he was already trying to decide who would let him crash on their lounge tonight.
“If you weren’t going to listen couldn’t you all have at least agreed on how she died” Athena sighed.
“I’ll go deal with” Bobby went to stand up.
“No you’ve done enough damage” Athena left the table.
Athena went to open the door while everyone else quietly got up from the table and came to peak around the corner. Bradley was still furiously banging on the door when Athena answered it.
“What do you want?” Athena asked angrily.
“I need the truth, I’ve been told so many different things over the last week,” Bradley said “Tell me the truth and I’ll leave you alone”
“Yes y/n is dead, yes she killed herself with my gun, no we haven’t told everyone, now if you don’t mind we’re currently having her wake” Athena crossed her arms.
“I’m so sorry Bradley quickly turned on his heels and ran off up the driveway out of sight.
Athena took a deep breath and closed the door.
“When I turn around you all best be at that table eating”

| Introducing myself in my fame dr ᯓᡣ𐭩
ᝰ. My name is Maeve Amelie Solace, but people usually call me by “Mae”.
ᝰ. I’m 26yo and I’m an A-list american actress and singer. (I was born in 1997 but I didn’t turned 27 yet).
ᝰ. I started my way on acting when I was 16 when my older brother was doing a play on high school and begged me to participate. I did, and since then I’ve been in love with acting.
ᝰ. When I graduated from high school i moved out from my hometown — Austin, Texas — to LA and entered to UCLA School of Theater.
ᝰ. My first big project in Hollywood was “The Edge of Seventeen” when I was 19-20yo, before that I just worked with small projects, mostly from my uni.
ᝰ. That project gave me more visibility in the industry and I became more well known.
ᝰ. Some of my films: The Edge of Seventeen, The School for Good and Evil (adaptation of the books), Lady bird, Scream 4 (2018), Little Woman, Causeway, We Live in a Time, Challengers, Me Before You, Glass Onion 2, Duna, Anyone but You, Don’t look up, No hard feelings, Don’t worry darling, The outrun, and etc.
ᝰ. Some of my shows: Supernatural (Claire Novak), Looking for Alasca, YOU, outer banks (season 4).
ᝰ. I’ve been nominated for the Oscar 4 times as the best Actress in a Leading Role, but I’m just gonna win the award in the 4th time (2024). Futhermore, i’ve won a lot of awards and nominations like Emmy’s and Golden Globes. In 2022, I entered the list of The Most Influential People by Time Magazine.
Now, my singer career:
ᝰ. My mom is a country singer — not much known — in Texas, so I’ve grew up loving music, and I’ve been writing songs since I was 15, but these never turned into real songs, until 2019-2020, when I recorded my EP’s.
ᝰ. My first EP is called “Minor” and it has 7 songs. I released it in 2019 just for fun, was some songs that I’ve been writing during the years. In 2020 I released more 2 EPs, called “Bittersweet” and “Good Riddance”, with 7 and 10 songs respectively, again, just for fun.
ᝰ. Now, my new coming up project on music is my first Album, called “The Secret Of Us”, it has 13 songs (+ 7 from deluxe) and all of them will have a music video, cause my objective is making a visual album.
ᝰ. With my new album, I intend to go on my first tour.
Fun facts about me:
ᝰ. I know ballet and gymnastics cause when my sister was 8 years old she wanted to learn but was scared to do it alone, so I used to go to classes with her.
ᝰ. I have 3 siblings, Will, Kayla and Austin. Will is 2 years older than me, Kayla is younger than me 4 years and Austin is 8 years younger than me. (Another fun fact is that Austin is adopted).
ᝰ. My s/o is Drew Starkey, I met him in a party at Maddie Cline’s house (2021). Also, Madelyn is my best friend and I’m very close to the cast of the outer banks too.
ᝰ. I’m in fact brazilian. I was born there but my family moved to the US when I was 8 — my father is brazilian but my mom is from us, she was in a trip when met my dad in brazil and blablabla — so I have dual nationality. (latinas are better lol). But when I was 14, I moved again to Brazil and lived there for almost 2 years with my aunt before I came back to US.
ᝰ. When I was 16, I made a YouTube channel with my brother Will and we used to talk about the most random things ever (btw it was a flop lol, this channel just came up when we became famous). (another fun fact is that he is also a well known actor, but more on theater plays than on screen).
ᝰ. When I was in high school, I was planning on going to med school — mostly because of my dad, he’s a doctor (my obsession with greys anatomy might got me inclined to that too🤭) — but then I fell in love with acting (when I was 16, like i said) and never quit. Besides that, I’m still very interested with things related to science and human body, stuff like that; most of things that I know are bc of my dad tho.
ᝰ. I’m polyglot. I speak Portuguese, English, Italian, Spanish and a bit of French and Latin. I also know ASL.
ᝰ. I still don’t know how to ride bikes without training wheels cause no one ever taught me (😭).
ᝰ. I love the sea, beaches, everything related to that, it’s one of my favorite places in the world.

Amelia Shepherd x fem!autistic!reader Warnings: autism struggles, ableism, use of ableist slurs, overstimulation (the autism kind, not the sex kind), explicit language, pregnancy times (let me know if I've missed anything!) Word Count: 2.4k
Summary: It's a typical day working with a child in the ER when your estranged father shows up and makes you feel just as small and stupid and alien as he did when you were growing up. Amelia is there to comfort you and remind you of who you really are.
“No, Mommy!” the little girl wailed as she writhed on the hospital bed. “I want to go home!”
Her mom looked at you apologetically as she tried to soothe her child. You needed to get her vitals. Based on the mom’s description, you also probably needed to get IV fluids and an antiemetic in her. But you knew that wasn’t going to happen while the kid felt scared and overwhelmed. This wasn’t your first rodeo with kids in the ER. In fact, the other ER nurses often called you over when kids were difficult to work with. They called you the “bad kid whisperer.”
You knew better. They weren’t bad kids. They were usually just scared. There was a lot to be scared of at a hospital. And you were good with them because you understood better than most what it was like for your body and brain to feel so overwhelmed that you could no longer regulate your emotions. Being autistic was hard sometimes, it made you stand out, but this was a place where it made you stand out in a good way.
You lifted your hands to show the little girl that you were setting down all your medical instruments.
“It’s okay,” you said quietly, pulling the curtain closed around the bed. Sometimes making the space smaller helped. You bent down to her height, careful to keep your distance and not to touch her.
“I’m Y/N,” you said. “What’s your name?”
The girl didn’t answer, shaking as she sobbed.
You nodded. “It’s okay if you don’t want to talk right now. Do you feel like you can’t breathe or anything?”
The girl shook her head.
“Good. Then all this other stuff can wait, okay? I’m not gonna touch you. No needles, no thermometer, no heartbeat or anything until you feel a little calmer. We can wait.”
She seemed to calm down a bit when she realized you weren’t going to make her do anything, her sobs subsiding to the occasionally aggressive sniffle.
“Here,” you offered, pulling a tiny tech deck skateboard out of the pocket of your scrubs. “Sometimes when I’m scared or nervous, having something to do with my hands makes me feel better.” You rolled the skateboard toward her, and she started running it across the rails of the hospital bed, her breathing starting to calm.
“Better?” you asked.
She nodded.
You started taking her vitals and continued the conversation. “You think you can tell me your name now?”
“Maddy,” she whispered.
You smiled even as you read her temperature: 103.4. Pretty high. She was almost certainly dehydrated. “That’s a really cool name. Now, do you know why your mom brought you here?”
“I threw up,” she told you, lip quivering.
“Oh, man,” you commiserated. “That’s the worst. I hate throwing up.”
Maddy nodded.
“Did you throw up just one time or a lot of times?”
“A lot.”
You exchanged glances with the mom to make sure this information was accurate.
“She can’t keep anything down,” the mom worried, biting her nails.
“Okay. Well, that’s okay. We’re gonna help you feel better. First, we’re gonna get some fluids in you. Do you know what that means?”
She shook her head as you gathered the supplies and pulled on gloves.
“It means your tummy is so sick that when you drink water, it all just comes right back out. And that’s not good because your body needs water. Your heart and your lungs and all the things that make you healthy and strong, they need water. So since you can’t swallow it, we’re gonna put a little tube in your arm and send water through the tube. That way your body gets the water it needs. And we’ll send medicine and electrolytes and all kinds of other good stuff to fight the sickness, too. It’s like we’re sneaking weapons past the sick.”
This explanation seemed to cheer her up a bit. “Like a secret mission?” she asked.
You nodded conspiratorially. “Exactly like a secret mission. But to get all that good stuff in there, we’re gonna have to put a needle in your arm. Just for a second! It makes the path for the supplies to go in.”
Maddy seemed to think deeply about this, then nodded. You had her play with the skateboard while you placed the IV line, ensuring that she was comfortably positioned for a good hour or so of fluid intake.
“Thank you,” her mom mouthed to you, and you gave her a quick thumbs up before adding a few reminders to your chart–what to check in the next hour, etc.
Maddy, now calmer, took a good look at you for the first time, from your glasses to your fingers that twitched by your ears, to your stomach that protruded out past your waistline–you were six months pregnant.
“Why are you so fat?” Maddy blurted out.
“Madeline Grace!” her mom hissed.
“It’s okay,” you laughed. “My tummy looks like this because there’s a baby in there. But some tummies are just bigger than others, too, and that’s okay. All tummies are good tummies.”
“Where’s the daddy?” she asked, reaching out to brush her hand over your stomach.
“No daddy,” you explained. “This baby has two mommies. His other mommy works upstairs. On brains.”
“Brains!?” she squealed.
You nodded. “Yeah. She’s pretty cool.”
Just then, the relative calm of a midday ER was interrupted by a loud, brash voice, bursting through the doors, yelling at the nurses at the station.
“Where the fuck is my daughter!? Middle of the fucking work day. Unbelievable. Am I going too fast for you? Read my lips, sweetheart. Madeline. Y/L/N.”
You froze, any icy stream of panic running from the back of your neck all the way down to your heels. You’d know that voice anywhere. It was an angry voice, a coach’s voice, the voice that had yelled at you to “stay the fuck in the bleachers” when all you wanted was to sit in the car and breathe. The same voice that growled at you to stop “doing that shit with your hands, you look like a r*tard.” The same voice that told you over and over that you weren’t “stupid enough to be on the short bus,” but you were “too stupid to function in real life.”
You felt your brain start swirling, felt panic building in your chest. You knew he’d gotten remarried, of course you knew. But you didn’t talk to him, hadn’t talked to him in nearly a decade. You knew they’d had a kid, but you didn’t know it was this kid.
All the ER noises, the beeps of the machines, the buzzing of the overhead lights–were they getting brighter?–the clang of instruments being set down, wails, conversations, and above it all your dad’s voice. Your dad’s voice. It was too much. It was all way, way too much.
You felt your hands start to shake at your sides, your body swinging back and forth, and you had to stop. You had to stop. Your dad would kill you.
He threw back the curtain, and his jaw dropped when he saw you.
“You!?” he spat, looking down. “Are you pregnant!?”
Maddy seemed oblivious to the tension. “Daddy!” she called. “Her name is Y/N and she gave me this little skateboard and the water is fighting the sickness through my tubes and she has a baby in her tummy and the baby’s other mommy fixes brains.”
You tried so hard not to stim, but it was not working.
“Don’t tell me you’re a nurse?! God, it’s a miracle you didn’t fucking stab her. You shouldn’t be holding any needles with those flappy arms. Probably shouldn’t be holding any babies either.” He shot out his hand and grabbed Teddy’s arm, which was wild to you. The audacity of the man to assume he had the authority to bother the trauma surgeon. “Yeah, honey, we need a different nurse over here. This one’s a r*tard.”
Teddy looked flabbergasted and deeply offended, but also concerned, as you clenched your teeth, hugging yourself, twisting your body back and forth. “It’s doctor, sir, and that word is not welcome at Grey-Sloan. Y/N is a perfectly capable medical professional. In fact, she’s one of our best, especially with kids.”
“I don’t know if you know this, but I feel like it’s my responsibility to tell you,” your dad whispered loudly to Teddy. “She’s got autism. She shouldn’t be handling tools or people or anything.”
Teddy pressed her lips together in frustration. “As I said, sir,” she repeated more forcefully. “Y/N is a perfectly capable medical professional, and we’re lucky to have her. But I’ll get another nurse over here for you. Y/N?”
Teddy beckoned you over, careful not to touch you, and led you to a quieter corner of the room.
“Who the fuck is that guy?!” she asked.
“M-my dad,” you stuttered. Everything in the room–sounds, lights, smells, all of it–seemed to be crashing over you again and again. As if you’d been knocked over by a wave and couldn’t get back up again because they just kept coming.
“You want to hang out in one of the on-call rooms for a bit?” Teddy suggested.
You nodded.
“Should I page Amelia?”
You shook your head. “She’s in surgery.”
Teddy pulled out her tablet to look. “I mean, we could just check.”
“Don’t bother her,” you repeated. “She’s got work to do. I’ll be okay.”
You made your way to the elevator and up to an on-call room, breathing heavily when you shut the door against the rest of the hospital. You turned off the lights, curling into a corner of the bottom bunk and pulling your knees up to your chest–or as close to your chest as they could get with your baby bump in the way.
You rocked yourself back and forth, thoughts spiraling. The movement and the dark usually calmed you down, but you were having a hard time regulating today, and nothing seemed to be working. Your breath just got faster and faster. And the fact that you couldn’t get yourself out of your spiral only made you spiral more.
You knew you were a good nurse. You knew that. You knew because you’d done it. But you hadn’t ever been a mom before. What if he was right? What if the baby made you overstimulated and you yelled or lashed out? What if the baby went to school and you went to parent nights and he was embarrassed of you, of how you couldn’t make eye contact and didn’t start conversations right and didn’t get the jokes. What if being autistic made you a bad mom?
You had tears streaming down your face by the time you heard a light knock on the door. It creaked open and Amelia’s head popped in. When she saw it was you, she quickly let herself in and locked the door.
“Oh, babe,” she said, watching your body rock back and forth in huge, aggressive sweeps. “A bad one, huh?”
“Go away, Amelia,” you hiccuped.
“Hey,” she said, jokingly. Then when she got closer and saw the tear tracks on your face, she said it again, quieter, sitting next to you on the bed. “Hey.”
When you didn’t say anything, Amelia shrugged. “Teddy said your… dad was here?”
You nodded.
She let out a deep breath, running a hand through her hair. “Honey, will you let me hold you? Please?”
You nodded again.
“Alright,” she said, waiting for your body to line up with hers as you rocked, then quickly grabbing you up in her arms, like she was catching something midair. “Gotcha.” She rocked with you.
“What did he say?” she asked, her breath warm on the top of your head.
“That I shouldn’t hold medical tools or babies because I’m a fucking re– I don’t want to say it. I hate that word.”
You felt Amelia’s arms tighten around you, and her breath came out in huffs. She was very angry. “As you should,” she told you. “It’s a nasty word. And it’s a word that doesn’t describe you at all, you know that.”
“I don’t know, Amy,” you whispered into her chest. “What if he doesn’t like me?”
“Babe, I think that ship has sailed,” Amelia said, running her fingers through your hair.
“Not my dad,” you explained. “The baby.”
Amelia was quiet for a moment, then you felt her lips press against the top of your head.
“Oh, honey,” she said, her voice soft. “Of course he’ll like you. He’ll love you. You're his mom.”
“But what if I’m bad at it? What if autism makes me bad at it?”
“Y/N,” Amelia said, gently grabbing your face and positioning it so that you had to look in her general direction, if not in her eyes. “Look how good you are with the kids in the ER. You’re gonna be an incredible mom.”
“I’m just scared,” you admitted.
“I’m a little scared, too,” Amelia told you. “But you know what? I think we’re gonna be okay. Me and you together? I mean, surely, combined, we can be at least one whole good mom, right?”
You giggled.
Amelia grinned at you. “There she is.”
You were quiet for a moment, playing with Amelia’s finger, with the edges of her scrubs.
“You know what you are?” Amelia asked after a bit, kissing your forehead. “You are smart and kind and empathetic. You’re funny and brave and you work hard. You’re my favorite person in the whole world.”
You looked away.
“Hey,” she said, pulling your face back toward her again. “I don’t like people talking about my wife like that. Even you.”
You nodded, wrapping your arms around her waist and pressing your face to her chest.
“Are you going back down there?” Amelia asked.
You shrugged.
“Want me to check if your dad’s still here?”
“Would you?”
“Oh, yeah,” she said, standing and placing one more kiss on your cheek. “In fact, I’d really like to talk to him.”
“Don’t do anything that’ll get you fired, Amy,” you called after her.
She looked back at you and winked as she walked through the door. “Can’t make any promises.”

Tom [setting the table]: Kids! Dinner's ready! Come on, off your electronics. Shadow, leave the book. You know the rules, dinnertime is for talking and sharing. Tails: Do you guys have a favorite kid? Tom: What? Where does this come from? Shadow: Everybody has a favorite something. Statistically speaking, it’s not crazy to think parents might favor one child over another based on shared interests or similarities in what they consider their positive traits. Tails: And therefore, statistically, I have to be the favorite. It’s always the baby of the family. Maddie: Kids, don’t be silly. Your father and I don’t have favorites. We love you all equally. Parents have… an infinite kind of love. And when love is infinite, it can’t be more or less; it’s just infinite and equal. Tom: Exactly, you can’t pick a favorite child. It’s like choosing between Mom or Dad. Knuckles: Wait, we can’t? Because Mother's been my favorite for a while now. Shadow: I’m voting for Miss Maddie too. Sonic: Can we change the subject, please? Tom: No, no, it's okay, Sonic. I’ve got thick skin. Besides, I expected it. Shadow picks Mom because they’re practically baking buddies and he spends all day at her clinic. Tails: I’m with Sonic, we shouldn’t be talking about this. I’m sorry for bringing it up. Tom: No, no, Tails, it’s fine. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. If you have something to say, just say it. Tails: Okay, well… don’t get me wrong, Dad, you’ve got a lot going for you, but… if I weigh everything out, Mom wins. Tom: Mom? What? Maddie: I think we should stop. Tom: Of course you’d want to stop now, you’ve got three out of four. Sonic: You’re all being unfair to Dad. He does a lot for us. Shadow: Does he though? He almost never cooks, and honestly, it’s not a huge loss when we eat takeout, because his chicken is… pretty rank. Maddie: I think it's good enough. Sonic: Yeah, it’s not like he’s reliable either. Like that time he abandoned me at the park. Tom: For the last time, I didn’t abandon you, I lost you. Come on, you were doing so good. Remember? Something about me doing a lot for you? Knuckles: He’s right, Sonic, you haven’t voted. Sonic: I don’t want to vote. This conversation is stupid, anyway. Maddie: Honey, I’m not going to get upset. You met Tom first and spent a lot of time with him. Sonic: That’s why I don’t want to say anything that might hurt Dad's feelings! [eyes widen in realization] Tom: …Wow. Just wow. Wow wow wow wow wow. Shadow: If it makes you feel better, you have the right to defend your case. Tom: I’m not defending my case. You all have your opinions, which I’m sure are empirically grounded. I'm okay. Maddie: Well said, honey-- Tom: But just one thing…! Maddie: Damn it. Tom: Who’s the one who signs permission slips, drives you wherever you need to go, cleans up the pigsty you call room, and a long list of et cetera? I’ll give you a hint: me, me, me, me, me, me, and me again. The same person who made this chicken you so rudely disrespected. So my chicken and I are leaving. [grabs all the chicken and piles it on his plate. Gets up]. Maddie: Tom, come on… Tom: Oh, and the door you broke playing ball inside? I fixed that too. You’re welcome! [slams the door on his way out. The door falls off its hinges. Tom comes back after hearing the crash, lips pressed tight. Sees the whole family staring at him]: No one… say… a word.

More from break up/make up mpreg . I need just to end two time slots and it's done. TAG LIST
Buck is 20 weeks pregnant:
“Ok, ok, you little monster, we will go to Micelli’s to get spumoni,” Buck says to his still pretty small belly, compared to the one Maddie had on the same stage. Doctors said it’s because of his height. He loves his bump a lot. It’s so beautiful and it shows enough right now that people don’t look at him strange, when he speaks to the baby, as it was in the first trimester.
He will get to Micelli’s for spumoni and then get home to bake cheesecake for Tommy to see him tomorrow. He doesn’t let his brain imagine how it will go. That's why today he was working with clipboards all over the station, before coming home. Lists kept him busy enough.
He parks and gets inside the restaurant, happy that it’s Thursday night so the palace should not be crowded, but his heart stops when he sees Tommy laughing and holding hands with a pretty man.
Hope leaves him again. His heart aches and cries in pain, but he refuses to let this man break it again. He runs to the jeep and leaves the place. He will find spumoni somewhere else. Not where the man, he doesn’t want in his life because he just so easily replaced Buck with a new toy, has dinner with said toy.
At home, crying in his bath full of water and lavender oil, he texts Lucy about plan change and why. He does not want Thomas Kinard near his baby. If a man wants to be a father, he can knock up this man with too tight jeans and too transparent crop top.
...
“You and I are better off without him anyway, right, love? You and I against the world?”
(nickname ) kicks and Buck can feel it not just inside but outside too. It makes him cry happy tears, “your first kick! Oh, your uncle Eddie would be so angry he missed it,” Buck chuckles, “I love you (first and middle name). So much.”
And for James his cameo 😉:
“One more push, Buck, and they are here,” his midwife, James - a really pretty young man with the most inspiring and sweet smile Buck has ever seen - instructs. Buck does exactly that, pushing with all the last strength he has, when he hears the most beautiful sound. His baby's cry.

I wish BoB's could take a second and look at episodes objectively, like without the Tommy of it all. Because, watching Confessions as a fan of all the characters, was just bad. It sucked. Eddie didn't get any character growth, Maddie was doing some weird hidden pregnancy thing for some reason, they had a fucking Glee speech, Maddie made a homophobic "joke", I could go on. Like, take the shipping goggles off for a second and realize you (generally speaking), in fact, did not get what you wanted.
I’m so mad their pregnancy was unplanned again. It makes way more narrative sense for them to come to the conclusion they want more kids together without having the situation essentially forced on them.
And yeah the Eddie thing started out strong! He acknowledged his mistakes to Father Brian!!! He said what happened! And then Fr Brian is like “you should do something frivolous.” And that’s it? No follow up? Is he going to actually work on acknowledging to Chris what happened? Has he talked about The Incident with Chris at all the past three months? Is he really going to settle for going to El Paso and being a witness to his son’s life? Obviously I think the answer is supposed to be “wait and see” but there’s been so little movement on him actually acknowledging the root cause of his actions, which is the grief he has for Shannon. Do you know how easy it would be for them to have him talk to the Real Shannon (i.e. her grave)? They’ve already shown that location before! They were at the graveyard this season! Talking to Shannon’s grave about missing out on Chris’s childhood would be so much more impactful than Brad being the reason that makes Eddie decides to leave.
And the Glee speech wouldn’t be so bad if it was actually leading somewhere you know? They take pains to explain why Tommy had a comphet relationship with Abby using Glee as a metaphor for social progress and that would have been great if it lead to anything positive for Tommy like an “i love you” for instance but because it doesn’t actually let Tommy have something nice despite his past mistakes born of fear, it instead comes off as the hand of the writers reaching down to jerk off Ryan Murphy, which isn’t a good look when the show is a Ryan Murphy Production.
And everyone has said it but the fact “how many men did she turn gay?” Was the perfect set up for Buck to say he’s bisexual is just so indicative of this season’s inability to follow through on anything. You’re telling me Buck wouldn’t say “well I’m bi actually” instead of that round about “I kissed a boy” thing? Hell he could have said both things and it would have flowed better. “Well first of all I’m bi and she was gone long before I ever kissed a boy.” *cue Josh*

One reason for why I find shipping Jonsa as a canon ship hilarious is that book Sansa would be so horrified if anyone suggested she marry Jon Snow!
And I think it's because Jonsa shippers themselves think differently to book Sansa. They know that Jon is a central character in the series, that he is a decent guy, has some secret parentage issues going on with the possibility of legitimacy, is loyal and forward thinking etc.
However, these matters don't concern book Sansa. She is a Stark - one of the last remaining Starks in Westeros. She is the eldest daughter of house Stark. The eldest daughter of the former Warden of the North and one of the formerly strongest houses of Westeros which still has a lot of loyalty from other Northern houses. She grew up with high expectations for her marriage.
She was formerly destined to be Queen of Westeros by marriage to Joffrey. She was considered for marriage to the Tyrell heir and would have been Lady of Highgarden. She married Tyrion Lannister who is heir to Casterly Rock. She is currently plotting to marry Harry the Heir - future heir to the Vale upon SweetRobin's death.
So as is seen by her as her right, Sansa expects a marriage to a very high born noble. So far all her prospects have been heirs to big houses and kingdoms.
In AGoT she thinks that the Stark Steward's daughter Jeyne Poole - The Pooles possibly being minor lords with a holdfast near Winterfell - was far beneath Lord Beric Dondarrion.
"Lord Beric is as much a hero as Ser Loras. He's ever so brave and gallant." "I suppose," Sansa said doubtfully. Beric Dondarrion was handsome enough, but he was awfully old, almost twenty-two; the Knight of Flowers would have been much better. Of course, Jeyne had been in love with Lord Beric ever since she had first glimpsed him in the lists. Sansa thought she was being silly; Jeyne was only a steward's daughter, after all, and no matter how much she mooned after him, Lord Beric would never look at someone so far beneath him, even if she hadn't been half his age.
For the same reason, Sansa would think that the bastard Jon Snow was beneath someone like Jeyne Poole.
In fact in her most recent sample TWoW chapter we see she doesn't think much of bastards. Five books in, with the very last published chapter, we see her matchmaking for the 19 year old Mya Stone with the much older, very low born, not good looking Lothor Brune because according to her that would be a good match for a bastard...
Alayne wondered what Mya made of Ser Lothor. With his squashed nose, square jaw, and nap of woolly grey hair, Brune could not be called comely, but he was not ugly either. Though he had risen to knighthood, Ser Lothor's birth had been very low. Brune would be a good match for a bastard girl like Mya Stone, she thought. It might be different if her father had acknowledged her, but he never did. And Maddy says that she's no maid either.
Sansa would be utterly shocked if someone suggested she marry loyal, honest, good Lothor Brune. He would be very low born for her. And if Lothor Brune is not good enough for Sansa how would she feel about marrying a baseborn bastard?
As much as Sansa would be joyful to reunite with her last living relative Jon Snow, she would rather match-make Jon Snow with some low born girl, some hedge knight's or freerider's daughter than marry him. And she would still think that a baseborn like Jon Snow would be lucky to marry someone higher up the chain like lowborn girls - the same way she thinks of Mya Stone and Lothor Brune.
Remember, bastards don't have any lands and are stigmatized as less than, being treacherous and lustful by nature of birth. Ned Stark gave Jon Snow no lands, instead packed him off to the Night's Watch.
Remember Alys Karstark dancing with Robb Stark and not Jon Snow because her father took her there to meet with the heir and not the bastard?
Look at Jaime's thoughts about Sybell Spicer:
"Your lord father promised me worthy marriages for Jeyne and her younger sister. Lords or heirs, he swore to me, not younger sons nor household knights." Lords or heirs. To be sure. The Westerlings were an old House, and proud, but Lady Sybell herself had been born a Spicer, from a line of upjumped merchants.
Or Lady Sybell's reaction to betrothing her son to Joy Hill. And this is only house Westerling.
"I have two sons as well," Lady Westerling reminded him. "Rollam is with me, but Raynald was a knight and went with the rebels to the Twins. If I had known what was to happen there, I would never have allowed that." Even from the grave, Lord Tywin's dead hand moves us all. "Joy is my late uncle Gerion's natural daughter. A betrothal can be arranged, if that is your wish, but any marriage will need to wait. Joy was nine or ten when last I saw her." "His natural daughter?" Lady Sybell looked as if she had swallowed a lemon. "You want a Westerling to wed a bastard?"
Also recall that the original arrangement was for two bastards to marry - Joy Hill, Gerion Lannister's bastard, to marry a Frey bastard.
So imagine Sansa's reaction to a suggestion that she marry the bastard Jon Snow... She would think it's a joke and laugh. She would be aghast and horrified. She would be repulsed and see it as punishment.
That's just how the high born Westerosi society thinks. Bastards are seen as the lowest strata. This is how feudal classism works in Westeros.
So unless Sansa gets suddenly and magically enlightened on classist prejudice, then Jonsa is something that is never, ever, ever going to happen. This is not even getting into what Jon Snow thinks and feels about the high born traditional ladies upholding Westerosi patriarchal ideals of femininity.

Heartfelt Introductions
Summary: After 3 dates Buck thinks it's time to tell his boyfriend, Tommy Kinard, about his 5-year-old daughter, you. Much to Buck's surprise he wants to meet you that night.
Pairings: Evan Buckley x Daughter!Reader, Evan Buckley x Tommy Kinard
Warnings: slight angst, fluff
Firecracker
Masterlist
Buck was nervous and that was understandable, he was going out on a third date with a guy he really liked. He has pretty much told this guy everything about him but one thing, more like one person. You. His 5-year-old daughter who was a spitting image of him. Each time they went on a date they either met each other or took Tommy's car. Buck was scared that if he told Tommy about you then he would run off like everyone else. The truth was that Tommy loved kids and loved when dates had kids because it just showed how strong they were at raising a kid in a one-parent household. Buck didn't know how to bring it up.
Tommy had asked Buck on a third date after work and Buck eagerly agreed. They had just come back from a huge accident on the freeway. Everyone was exhausted and ready to go home. Buck was ready to go get you from school and spend the rest of the night playing games and cuddling you, just that thought brought a smile to his face. He had just changed out of his gear and headed up to the kitchen when Tommy was calling his name. Buck stopped at the bottom of the steps and turned and smiled when he saw his boyfriend coming up to him. He had been temporarily stationed at the 118 while they were a man down since they went on paternity leave. "Hey." Buck smiled.
"Hey, do you have plans for tomorrow night?" Tommy asked
"I haven't really planned on anything. What's up?" Buck asked
"I want to take you out on a date." He told him and Buck smiled.
"I would love that. What time are you planning on?" Buck asked
"7 PM?" Tommy asked
"That sounds perfect." Buck said and Tommy smiled. "I'm about to grab something to eat. Want anything?" He asked and Tommy continued to smile and nod his head.
"Actually I do." He said and Buck smiled and then they were climbing the stairs into the kitchen. The rest of the evening was spent together lounging around with each other being all boyfriend and boyfriend and hanging around with the team. Nobody said anything because they were just happy to see Buck finally happy and flourishing.
The end of their shift finally ended as they got back from a call and it was late. Everyone was exhausted and they were ready to be in their own bed with their loved ones. Buck was exhausted and his whole body hurt, he was doing a lot of heavy lifting on the last call and it took a toll on him although he should be used to it because he was picking you up non-stop and he trained for this. As he finished changing and was grabbing his bag Eddie was beside him "So you have any plans when you go home?" He asked and Buck turned to his best friend and smiled.
"Yea I do. I'm going to go and pick up Y/N and just cuddle her all night long." Buck said and Eddie smiled. Often times when Buck was at work and Maddie had the time off when she moved here she was watching you and other times you were left with someone Buck and Maddie interviewed thoroughly and felt like they could trust them.
When the 118 learned that Buck was a father to you they were shocked.
Bobby was the first one to know and that is because he was the one Buck was calling freaking out when your mom left, you were only a few days old when it happened. He was the captain so he had to know and often Buck would go to him for advice when he couldn't get you settled. Bobby was shocked that Buck fathered an offspring but he kind of expected it to happen at some point.
"I heard Y/N's name. How is the little Firecracker?" Hen asked as she came up to them. You were introduced to the team slowly the rest of the team was introduced to you and they all agreed that you were a spitting image of Buck and you were a little firecracker. You had gotten the nickname Firecracker because of your personality which you had gotten from Buck.
"She's great. Growing like a weed. So much energy." He said and they chuckled.
"Sounds like someone else we know." Hen chuckled and Buck rolled his eyes but smirked. "She's a great kid really. If your babysitter and Maddie can't babysit Karen and I would love to do it. Karen, Denny, and I love her." She added and Buck smiled.
"I really appreciate that." Buck said as they all began to file out of the locker rooms and towards their cars as they walked they chatted.
Hen was the second person to know you were 4-years-old. Buck had been working and was informed that his babysitter, Carla Price, couldn't babysit you the next day and he had an important appointment to go to. He was going on about it to Bobby and usually, he would offer to watch you but he couldn't that day. Hen just happened to be walking by and overheard the conversation she was quick to offer her and Karen's assistance. Buck thanked her profusely and she just smiled and chuckled telling him it wasn't a problem he showed her pictures and told her all about you. That afternoon he took you over there to them and it was an instant connection with Karen, Hen, Denny, and you. Buck knew he could trust the family and it was a major relief.
"Does Tommy know about Y/N?" Chimney asked as he caught up with Buck he had caught the tail end of the conversation.
"No he doesn't but I'm planning on telling him tomorrow night when we go to dinner." Buck said as he opened his driver's side back door and put his bag in. He caught sight of your car seat and he instantly felt better knowing he was coming home to you.
"I remember the first time meeting her. I was shocked but she's so adorable." Chimney said and Buck smiled.
"Thank you." Buck said
Chimney was the third person to find out. He had recently started to date Maddie. He had come over to her place for a night in. When he got there he walked to the door and knocked he wasn't expecting Buck to be there but wasn't surprised. They talked and he welcomed him in. You shouted "Daddy, save me!" and tackled Buck's legs and practically climbed up him to get away from Maddie who was attempting to clean you up. Chimney looked at Buck surprised and he explained everything as Maddie cleaned you up. They weren't expecting to babysit but Buck had something to do that night and begged Maddie to watch you and she agreed. You reminded Chimney of Buck and you looked like him so much that it was scary to him but then again he was your father so it made sense. You and Chimney quickly became best buds.
"How are you going to bring it up?" Eddie asked and Buck turned to his best friend.
"I'm not sure yet." Buck said as they all stood around and talked.
Eddie was the last to know since he was the last one to join. Right off the bat he could tell that Buck was a father he just had the look and the way he cared for children on calls just screamed dad. Eddie met you at a firehouse cookout, Buck had been a few minutes late because you were putting up a fight but eventually pouted and let him dress you. You pouted all the way to the cookout but when you got out and he took you to everyone you instantly lit up. You excitedly greeted everyone and then you met Eddie and Christopher and just like Hen, Karen, and Denny a bond was formed and you quickly learned you could trust the father and son duo. From time to time Eddie would babysit you without a fuss.
"Hey guys." Tommy's voice came through and everyone smiled at him and greeted him and they were quickly saying their goodbyes and now it was just him and Buck. "I was thinking we could go to the new Thai place downtown close to the prier. I know who much you like Thai." Tommy said and Buck smiled he really did pay attention to what Buck had said.
"Yea, I would love to go there. Been wanting to try it for a while now but never get a chance to." Buck said and Tommy smiled.
"Well now is your chance. Pick you up 6:30 PM?" He asked and Buck nodded and smiled.
"That would be perfect." Buck said and then they were both leaning in and kissing each other. Once air was needed the let up and both of them were smiling. "I love you." He added.
"I love you too. Be safe going home. Let me know when you're home." Tommy said
"I will as long as you be safe and le me know." Buck said
"You know I will." Tommy said and then they were kissing one more time and then they were getting in their vehicles and heading home. Buck to pick you up and then home and Tommy directly home. Buck couldn't wait to see you and cuddle you after being gone for 2 days and he was looking forward to his date.
He finally arrived at Maddie's to pick you up and take you home. Chimney had beaten him there so when Buck parked and walked to the door and rang the doorbell he was answering it. "Wondering when you were going to get here." Chimney joked and he Buck rolled his eyes but smiled.
"Tommy and I got to talking." Buck said as Chimney let him in and took him to the living room where Maddie was packing your stuff up. "Where is she?" Buck asked looking around.
"She's asleep. Fell asleep during dinner and figured I would just put her in bed until you got here." Maddie said and Buck smiled.
"Thank you, for everything." Buck said as he helped her and started to get things ready to go home. Chimney had walked out of the room to get you from the room.
"No need to thank me. We love watching her." Maddie said as Chimney walked in carrying a sleeping you and Buck smiled.
"There she is." Buck said walking over and taking you from the other man's arms your face scrunched up but you didn't wake, you must've sensed you were in your father's arms because you snuggled into his neck and settled down. Maddie was watching the encounter smiling, she was shocked when she learned that Buck had a kid but knew that the sleeping around would catch up to him at least it was with a girlfriend and not some random chick. "Alright lets get you home." Buck said speaking softly to you as he grabbed your things and headed to the front door with the other two adults following. They followed him out to his Jeep where he skillfully put everything away and then you into your car seat all without waking you up. Buck thanked his sister and brother-in-law again and hugged them and they said their goodbyes. He got into his Jeep and then he was heading home.
A short quick trip home and Buck was parking his Jeep in the parking lot. He would get your stuff later but right now he just wanted to get you into your bed and then fall into his bed. He once again got you out the car skillfully and quietly without waking you up. You squirmed and threw your arms around your father. "Daddy?" You mumbled in your seleep.
"Yes, Baby?" He asked
"Home?" You asked and he smiled and kissed the side of your head.
"Yea, Baby we are home." He said and you tightened your grip and fell back to sleep. He walked into the house after unlocking it, he took you to your room and laid you down thankfully Maddie had changed you into pajamas when she was babysitting you. He laid you down and pulled the covers over you, he then gave you kiss on your hairline and then he was walking out of your room to his room. He got ready for bed and then climbed into it thinking of the events and the upcoming date with Tommy while falling asleep with a smile.
--------
The next morning Buck was sleeping peacefully when something started to poke his face around 10 AM. It was annoying but maybe if he ignored it then it'll go away. After a minute it was working until a tiny well known voice started to speak into his ear. "Daddy." You said and he moved but made no move to wake up he heard you huff annoyed and mentally he smiled. "Daddy. I'm hungry." You said with more force and he opened his eyes. "About time." You said with sass and he couldn't help but chuckle, you were definitely his kid.
"Alright I'm up. What would you like to eat?" He asked sitting up to face you.
"Waffles!" You excitedly and he smiled and chuckled.
"Ok, waffles it is." He said moving to get up and you did the same. You followed him to the kitchen where he started to get the waffle maker out. He then got the batter out "Can you get out the milk and eggs out, please?" He asked and your eyes lit up and nodded your head enthusiastically you always loved when he asked you to help make food or help out in general.
"I can!" You said and hurriedly ran to the fridge and got what you needed as he supervised you ready to help when you needed. The look of concentration on your face was so cute and he had to smile and chuckle because he did the same thing and anybody would agree with that. You walked the milk over to him and handed it to him and then went back for the eggs when they were out you closed the fridge and took them over to him.
"Thank you, Baby Girl." He said as he took the eggs from you and you smiled.
"You're welcome, Daddy." You said and then the task of making waffles continued. Buck put on music softly in the background laughter, fun, and memories were being made this would be something you would remember and cherish for a long time. Soon the food was made and breakfast was eaten.
"So what do you want to do this afternoon?" Buck asked as he took the last bite of his waffles and you pulled a face that he does when he was thinking.
"I wanna go to the park with Uncle Eddie and Christopher." You say after a minute of thinking and Buck smiles. You mainly wanted to see Christopher and Buck knew this.
"I think they would love to see you." He said as he pulled out his phone and sent a text off to Eddie to see if he wanted to go. He instantly got a message back saying they would love to go. Buck was so happy when you quickly warmed up to Eddie and Christopher and it was probably because you could sense that Eddie and Buck were best friends. "Well it looks like we will be meeting them at the park." Buck said looking up at you and he could see your eyes light up.
"Yay!" You said
"Finish your breakfast and we'll get ready to go." Buck said and you nodded and started to shovel food in. "Whoa whoa slow down and take your time." He said and was glad when you listened to him. When you had finished he took the dishes and then sending you off to get ready as he went to get ready himself and prepared some snacks for everyone. When he checked on you and saw that you were good he then he went and grabbed your bags and his bag out of the car. He walked back into the house as you were coming out of your room.
"Ready, Daddy." You said and he smiled as he set bags down. You actually dressed yourself and it actually matched.
"I see that. Let me grab the food and we can go." He said and did just that and then the two of you were off to the park to meet Eddie and Christopher. The drive to the park wasn't that far and he could see Eddie's truck already there. He parked next to it and was getting out as Eddie and Christopher was walking over to them.
"Uncle Eddie!" You screeched as you were set down by your dad and took off towards him. Buck would've scolded you but seeing that it was Eddie he didn't he also knew Eddie would do it.
"Hey there Mini Buck." He said and picked you up. "You know you're not supposed to run off from your dad right? Even if it is me." He asked and you nodded and looked down.
"I'm sorry." You said and he hugged you and kissed your head.
"It's ok. Next time wait, ok?" He asked and you nodded.
"Ok." You said and then he was setting you down. You saw Christopher and got excited and hugged him the best you could as Buck came over.
"Long time no see." Eddie joked and Buck rolled his eyes but smiled.
"Nice to see you." Buck said and both men chuckled and they were following you and Christopher as the two of you took off and started playing together. You didn't care that he had crutches you both had fun together. The two fathers took a seat on the bench to keep an eye on the two of you and that gave them a chance to talk.
"So you have a date tonight?" Eddie said smiling and nudged his best friend.
"I do. Speaking of that. I need someone to watch Y/N tonight." Buck said and Eddie didn't even hesitate.
"You don't even have to ask. I would love to watch her." Eddie said and Buck looked relived as they both looked up when they heard you squeal. You were laughing as you and Christopher chased each other and that made the fathers smile. "So, when are you going to tell Tommy about Y/N?" He asked.
"I'm planning on telling him tonight. I just don't know if it should be before or after." Buck said and Eddie nodded turning to look at his friend watching you and Christopher.
"Want my opinion?" Eddie asked
"Please." Buck said turning to look at him.
"Tell him during dinner and introduce him after you get home. It'll give him time to process everything and prepare himself. You already know that she does well with meeting new people. She also picks up on your energy if you like someone she'll pick up on that and accept them easier, that is what happened when you introduced her to us." Eddie said and Buck nodded he knew Eddie was right and he trusted his best friend.
"Daddy, daddy!" You yelled out and he turned to look over as you rushed over to him.
"What is it, Baby?" He asked
"I thirsty." You said and he chuckled and pulled out a drink for you and handed it to you. Christopher wasn't too far behind you and he was getting one ready for him. You both drank happily and then the two of you were off again.
"You're just prepared for anything aren't ya?" Eddie asked smirking.
"Can't blame me." Buck said
"You got me there." Eddie said. The rest of the afternoon was spent at the park and then the 4 of you were heading to a little restaurant/bakery. After lunch you and your dad were heading home and Eddie and Christopher were heading home. Arrangements were made that Eddie was going to pick you up an hour before the date so Buck could pick up the house and make it tidy.
As the time was ticking closer for Tommy to be there to pick Buck up, Buck was getting nervous. Nervous about going out with him, nervous about bringing you up to the guy he really liked, and nervous about the meeting if it came to that. Eddie had come and picked you up around 5:30 PM and it was planned to bring you back to the house so you could be there when your father got home. He was almost done with the house and himself just as 6:30 PM there was a knock on the door and Buck was rushing to get it. He opened the door and there stood Tommy. "Hey." Buck said opening the door further and motioning him in and Tommy walked in taking in everything.
"Hey." Tommy said and looked over at Buck.
"I just need to do something real fast and then I'll be ready to go. I'm sorry." Buck said and Tommy smiled and shook his head.
"Evan, it is ok. Do what you need to do." Tommy said and Buck was instantly relieved.
"Thank you. Thank you so much." Buck said and kissed him and then rushed off. Tommy chuckled and walked into the living room where he saw multiple kid's toys and then a photograph caught his eye. It was of Buck in his gear kneeling down and you were in a white dress with pigtails and you were kissing him, it made Tommy's heart swelled and made him smile. He got to noticing all the other pictures and they were mainly of you and Buck no mother in the picture anywhere. Tommy just smiled and wondered why Buck hadn't mentioned you but he understood it and wasn't going to push him into talking about you to him until he is ready. Having a kid was always a deal breaker and he understood that Buck wanted to make sure this was a serious thing before he brought anyone into your life. "Sorry are you ready to go?" Buck asked and Tommy turned to look at him and smiled.
"Right after you." Tommy said and so both men walked out of the house and to Tommy's car. As they started to head to the restaurant it was quiet but it was a comfortable quiet. Small talk was made and filled the car along with music playing softly in the background. Tommy was waiting for you to be brought up but he wasn't going to push the topic if Buck wasn't ready.
They got to the restaurant and Tommy parked and both men got out and walked to the building. Both of them walked in and Tommy went up to the stand and gave them his name and they were going to be seated almost instantly. They were seated near the back near a window looking out over the ocean, it was romantic. "I really love this place so far." Buck said and Tommy smiled.
"I'm glad you do because so do I." Tommy said. A waiter came by and took their order for drinks and he was quick to bring them back. That gave them enough time to look over the menu and then when the drinks came they gave him the order. Tommy could tell something was making Buck nervous but he wasn't going to make push it. Tommy tried to take Buck's mind off being nervous and it worked some as they talked about anything and everything. Food was brought out and they ate and when they were too full to finish their food they got to-go boxes. They did fight over the check but Tommy beat him to it.
"I need to tell you something." Buck said as Tommy finished signing his name and he looked up.
"You can tell me anything. I'm here for you Evan." Tommy said turning his full attention to the man in front of him. Buck took a deep breath and tried to still his fast beating heart.
"I have a 5-year-old kid. A daughter." Buck finally confessed and Tommy just smiled and nodded.
"I could tell you were a father when I met you." Tommy said and Buck looked shocked.
"Why didn't you say anything?" Buck asked
"I wanted you to come out and tell me instead of me pushing you to tell me. I didn't want to make you uncomfortable. You mean a lot to me Evan and I like you a lot. I want us to be together." Tommy said and Buck seemed to be more relaxed.
"I'm so glad you're not running off. I learned my mistake about talking about Y/N straight on. She's my pride and joy." Buck said and Tommy saw his eyes light up when he talked to him about you and that made him smile.
"Tell me about her." Tommy said
"Really?" Buck asked and Tommy nodded.
"Really, I want to know more about her. You light up when you talk about her. So, Evan tell me about your daughter." Tommy said and Buck got all excited.
"Ummm where do I start. She's a really smart kid and so outgoing. Everyone gave her the nickname of Firecracker because that is what she is." Buck chuckled "Everyone says she's a exact copy of me. She loves everyone and is usually quick to bond with people it was that way when she met the team." Buck said and suddenly got self-conscious. "Sorry I'm rambling." He said and looked down.
"Evan." Tommy said and Buck looked up at him "It's ok. I told you to tell me about her. She sounds like a wonderful kid. I do want to ask about her mother. Where is she?" Tommy asked and Buck sighed.
"She left when Y/N was just a few days old during the night. She didn't leave an explanation she just packed up and left. I actually called Bobby in a panic that night and he was quick to come over. He had been a huge help especially when I couldn't settle Y/N but I think she was just picking up on my anxiety." Buck said and Tommy listened and continued to listen.
"I'm so sorry that happened to you, Evan. I just want you to know that I will be here for you and Y/N for as long as you will have me." Tommy said and Buck looked up and Tommy could see something in his eyes that he couldn't quite place maybe gratefulness or it was something else, relief maybe.
"Would you like to meet her?" Buck asked
"I would love to meet your daughter." Tommy said and Buck smiled.
"She's with Eddie and Christopher but they should be at the house now. I'll let them know we are on the way home when we get in the car." Buck said as they both stood up and before they could walk out of the restaurant Tommy kissed Buck and Buck kissed back. When they broke apart they were smiling like fools they grabbed their leftovers and they held hands as they walked out of the restaurant and to Tommy's car. They got in and headed back to the Buckley household. Buck sent a quick text to Eddie letting them know they were on their way to the house and that Tommy really wanted to meet you. Eddie was quick to text back about how exciting that was and how happy he was for him.
"Tell me more about her." Tommy said and Buck got excited and went on about your dislikes and likes. He talked about anything and everything and for once he wasn't nervous about telling his date about you. Tommy smiled as he drove and listened to his boyfriend passionately talk about you.
As the got closer to the residence Buck was becoming nervous. None of his dates made it to the point of them meeting you. Buck knew Tommy was going be different but he couldn't help but be nervous. They pulled up into the driveway and the headlights shined on Eddie's truck and his Jeep. "That's Eddie truck." Buck said and Tommy could sense his nervousness.
"It's ok. You're nervous and I get that. I would be too. Everything is going to work out." Tommy said as he parked behind Buck's Jeep and turned towards him. "I love you and I'm going to love your daughter. She may not like me at least not right away and if she never likes me that's ok, I'll still love her. You know why?" He asked and Buck shook his head.
"Why?" He asked
"Because I love you." Tommy said and Buck melted and his heart swelled he leaned over and kissed him.
"I love you too." Buck said when they pulled apart.
"Now lets get in there so I can meet your daughter and the first love of your life." Tommy said and Buck chuckled but he was right you would always be the first love of his life.
"Let's go." Buck said and took a deep breath they grabbed the leftovers and headed to the front of the house. Buck pulled out his key and unlocked the house and they walked in and was met with your voice in instant as they sat leftovers down
"Daddy home!" You shouted and took off from the living room and to your father who bent down and caught you in his arms. Tommy smiled at the interaction as he put the leftovers in the fridge.
"Hi, Baby." He said as Eddie appeared in the kitchen with Christopher in tow.
"Hey, Tommy." Eddie greeted the man with a bro hug.
"Hey." Tommy said and then they pulled apart and he turned to Buck as he started to speak.
"How was she?" Buck asked
"Too much like you." Eddie said and everyone chuckled "She was perfect. She ate pretty much all of her dinner and dessert afterward. We came back here and played with her toys while Christopher and I played on the Xbox." Eddie said and Buck nodded satisfied with the answer.
"Good. I'm glad she behaved." Buck said and Eddie nodded.
"Well we will get out of here so you three can have some time together." Eddie said and then he and Christopher said their goodbyes to everyone and they headed out. Once they were gone it was just Tommy, you, and Buck. The three of you walked into the living room and sat down on the couch.
"Y/N, I would like you to meet Tommy." Buck said and you looked over at Tommy and looked him up and down and Buck was nervous because you weren't saying anything. So Tommy decided to speak up first.
"Hi Y/N it is nice to meet you." He said sweetly and that seemed to ease your nerves.
"Are you my daddy's boyfriend?" You asked and Buck was shocked that you would ask that first.
"Yes I am." Tommy said
"Are you going to leave my daddy?" You asked and Buck stayed quiet not wanting to interfere. He was shocked to hear the question he didn't think you knew about the other dates but then again you were smart and picked up emotions very easily. You knew something was wrong when your dad said he was going on a date and then came back all sad.
"No, I'm not. I love your dad. I'm going to stick around for as long as your dad and you will have me." He said and you nodded and then your mood changed and you crawled over your dad and hugged Tommy and he hugged you back. Buck looked so relieved and actually let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
"I want you to stick around for a long time." Buck said and Tommy smiled that answer just confirmed that Buck truly does love him and wants him around.
The rest of the night was Tommy getting to know you and questions were asked and answered. Talking and laughter filled the house and it was a sound that Buck loved. You kept pulling Tommy to play with you even though Buck told you to lay off some but Tommy waved him off and continued to play with you until you were crawling into your dad's lap and falling asleep. Buck excused himself while he went to put you down but he wasn't expecting Tommy to follow. Tommy smiled the entire time loving how careful he was with you. After Buck tucked you in and kissed your head he turned to Tommy who was smiling.
"What?" He asked and Tommy shook his head.
"You're so good with her. I can tell that you really love her." Tommy replied as Buck stepped out of the room and cracking the door they walked back to the living room.
"Thank you for not running away." Buck said
"Like I told you. I love you and in turn, I would love her. She's a sweet girl and I can totally agree that she is a copy and paste of you. She's a wonderful kid." Tommy said as he pulled Buck into his arms and he snuggled into them.
"I love you." Buck said and Tommy chuckled and smiled.
"Me too." He said
Buck had every right to be nervous, he was introducing his pride and joy, his entire world, his Firecracker, his Baby Girl, his Mini-Me to the man he loved. It was truly a heartfelt introduction and he was so glad it went off so smoothly. Tommy loved you and you loved him. As he cuddled into his boyfriend's arms he knew his world was complete and nothing could take it away from him not now and not ever. Too many times he was let down thinking he found the one to love you like their own and to love him but with Tommy, it wasn't like that. Tommy put his entire heart into loving Buck and you, even though he had only met you tonight. Buck felt like now the family was complete and he loved that feeling and wasn't going to let it go.

Let's Focus on Loris the Shield Man Real Quick:
Much like how Isha is there to reflect Jinx's inner child and Sevika fills in the sisterly/motherly role Jinx is so desperate for, this man will fit into the role of Vander to Vi.
Loris is meant to be there during Vi's darkest moment (like how Vander took the girls in) and help guide Vi down the right path. He disapproves of Caitlyn's raise to Dictatorship because he aligns himself with the good of all people. Something Jinx will soon symbolize to the people of Zaun. We see his alignment foreshadowed through the blue bead he wears in his hair, similar to Ekko's hair bead of a Jinx bomb later in the season; this is further pushed when Loris is covered in blue paint in ep.3.
The only thing we hear him say in all 3 episodes, the only thing is "I like peanuts" in response to Vi's negative rant about the events at the end of s1 and what just transpired with Caitlyn earlier in the episode. The only thing we hear him say, is something positive out of all that negativity. He's meant to bring some light in Vi's darkness.
He symbolizes the shield Vander failed to give the girls. Both him and Vander find Vi while they're struggling. Vander - the aftermath of a war and Vi losing her parents. Loris - the aftermath of Jinx's attack and both having fallen down a drinking spiral. He will help guide a hurting, lost Vi into the person she's been trying to be since she was a kid.
Junior Officer Maddie Nolan plays a major hand in this as well. She fits into the role of a younger VI, at least the aspirations and hopes she once held towards the future.
The show gives us a really good shot of Vi watching Loris give Maddie a comforting hand after they come up on Jinx's doll trap in the airducts. They look almost like father and daughter, like Vander and Vi... Maddie is by no means a young Vi the way Isha is almost a clone of Powder, but she holds this naive optimism for the future that helps inspire Vi to open up about joining the enforcers. Not just from what Cait had to say about her, but what Maddie said about Vi's actions and how she is viewed amongst the younger officers. This is another call back to her past when Vander tells Vi how her siblings Powder, Clagger, and Mylo look up to her and follow her. She becomes in a way Vi's two brothers story wise.
-Earlier I said Loris will be the shield Vander failed to give the girls. That's not an accurate statement, Vander tried his best to make sure his kids would be protected. He pushed for peace at every hand choosing to use his fist when all other options have been exhausted. At the end of the day his weapon is a brutal offense, Vi has never seen a true defensive weapon that protects. She only knows how to protect through means of force. Loris' treatment of Vi and her struggles will teach her how to be a proper shield for others and how she wants to protect her loved ones.

If not Buddie, why Buddie shaped? #2
Following my theory that season 7 and 8 are new seasons 1 and 2 on abc, where the writers revisits the big events from character’s pasts and retells them (you can read it here) I want to look closer at new episode 8x06 “Confessions”.
This is all fresh in my mind, I watched the episode like 4h ago, there is a chance I’ll miss something.
Like I said, I think we’re going to see at least 4 more big moments revisited (or rather the emotional state those events invoked) from previous seasons before Buddie goes canon. Kitchen scene, well, will and shooting arc. And one of those happened in this episode! But also so many other things!
EDDIE:
Starting with Eddie in the confessional. I can’t help but see his fight club era here (call me bias, I love season 3 Eddie so much!). An attempt to find a healthy outlet to his emotions. He’s struggling and fighting with his inner demons, this time instead of rage it’s sadness and loneliness.
And he is doing it with an outsider's help. Father Brian is like Lena Bosko. Why Lena and not Frank? I think Eddie would just shut on therapy at this point. He needs someone to talk to, someone with opinions and advice, caring enough to want to help but also not afraid to go straight to the point and call his bs - Lena and Father Brian did just that.
Ok. Time to revisit a big event from Eddie’s past - the well. ABC put the call with the little boy trapped in a pipe in episode promo as the red herring. The real purpose of this call was to remind us about the Eddie Begins episode. The important thing from Eddie Begins is that Eddie was alone in the dark pit - and in the end he saved himself.
So the real connection between those two episodes is not in the call where 118 saves the little boy, but between Eddie coming out from underwater, drawing a deep breath and Eddie shaving a mustache, shedding his mask and dancing, breathing fully again.
sorry for the meme, I'm tired
It’s also interesting that the moment Eddie allowed himself to feel joy Buck knocked at his door.
BUCK:
This one is pretty straight forward. Like I said before, Tommy represents Abby - a transformative relationship - like Buck said himself. The fact that Tommy was engaged with Abby is a really beautiful way to further connect and close both relationships. What leads to the break up from Tommy’s side is also similar. Tommy knows he would fall deeply for Buck, and Abby didn’t come back because she knew she would lose herself in Buck. They were both protecting themselves.
And here is also a little parallel to Ali. Like her, Tommy offers Buck a proper and honest break up, showing maturity, understanding and clear reason why. And yes, Ali was also protecting herself, ending their relationship before they broke each other's hearts.
And one more thing from Buck’s side. The whole Abby thing throws him off. Maddie tells him it’s not a big thing, Josh tells him not to judge Tommy (honestly, Josh’s speech is amazing!) - this calms him down in the end, dating the same woman doesn’t feel awkward anymore. But the questions Josh is asking leave Buck confused. Taking the next step, moving in together - it’s like Buck is trying to prove he really feels those things Josh was talking about (or maybe even compensate for his “freak out”, confirm he’s fully into this relationship). And on some level Buck has those feelings, he cares about Tommy, but more than that, he simply feels he should be on the level Josh suggested and he wants this to work. It’s Buck’s impulsiveness coming to play, an action that causes reaction in a form of big gesture to confirm his feelings - a nod to his relationship with Taylor.
Fortunately Tommy explains those feelings to Buck (and to the audience) in a very kind way.
Honestly, their relationship (the last two episodes especially) was handled beautifully, without unnecessary drama, without too much spotlight. It started with fireworks, naturally progressed and faded gently.
The cherry on top: Evan meant something more, something special for Tommy. Ending his goodbye with Buck means “we’re friends now”.
BUDDIE:
There are two things here I want to mention.
Ever since Gerrard separated Buck and Eddie this is the episode where we can see them working together as partners again. And this finally wraps up the divorce era.
The ending scene represents different scenes for each of them, ending different arcs.
For Buck the couch scene represents Abby’s comeback in season 3. He watched her ride off in the ambulance with her fiance (with Eddie solid by his side), and later he got closure from her.
For Eddie this scene represents him being embraced by the 118 after he dug himself out from the well. He’s connected again, no longer alone.
And of course, the most obvious and sweetest thing - it’s the right couch (and they finally drink that beer).
Bonus MADNEY:
Couldn’t help but notice some revisits here. Maddie’s postpartum depression is addressed very clearly, nothing to add here. During the pandemic Chimney stayed at Buck’s place, afraid to put pregnant Maddie in danger of catching the virus. Something happened on a call that changed his mind, made him overcome his fear and enjoy the future with his family. The same in this episode. But there is a little twist here and it involves brothers. In season 7 the new audience learned about Kevin. Guess who wasn’t yet introduced (and also took care of Maddie during the pandemic)... yes, I believe this season we will see Albert again.
That’s it for now. Let me know if you want more posts like this. Feel free to contact me if you want some clarification or just to talk.

Love Me Anyways
Evan Buckley x Male Reader
A/N heads up, this is going to be a short one. i just wanted to write something small to get me back into the mood of writing. also, if this is the first thing of mine, you're reading, I am shitty with editing. It's currently 5am and I have had zero sleep. I'm really not in the mood to heavily edit this. this would be a continuation of what i believe would have happened after he got into that argument with his parents where he yelled love me anyways at his mom. also... can we take a moment for oliver stark's acting in that scene? insane. one last small thing, i might post a second part to this where his partner would do something very sentimental for him, in hopes to make up for the fact that his parents never made him a baby box... let me know if you would want that:) if you have any requests, please let me know!!

.
Y/N was just sitting on the couch, watching tv whenever he heard the front door start to unlock. Buck has a key to his house. So, it wasn't unusual that he would come over at random hours. Y/N is laid back, only in grey sweatpants. He's watching an old episode of The Walking Dead whenever he sees Buck come through the front door. He immediately picks up on the fact that Buck is not okay. He can see tears flowing down his face; this causes him to quickly sit up.
"Buck? What's wrong?" He asks in a panicked tone. Y/N knew that tonight, Buck was going to have dinner with Chimney, Maddie, and his parents.
Buck just shakes his head. He tries to take a deep breath to calm down, but he can't. A sad whimper slips past his lips.
A concerned look breaks out on Y/N's face. He lays back and opens his arms. He says in a soft tone, "Come here."
Buck walks over and lies down in his arms. His body goes directly on top of Y/N's. His arms go around Y/N's waist and his head goes onto his chest. The second Buck is in his arms, he breaks down.
Y/N wraps his arms around Buck's shoulders and holds him tight. His nose nuzzles into Buck's hair. He softly rubs his back and scratches the back of his head.
"I got you. Let it out, you're safe." Y/N whispers to Buck to try and calm him down.
Buck is a wreck. He just cries and cries into Y/N's chest for a few minutes before he finally starts to calm down.
Y/N quietly asks, "Can we talk about it now?"
Buck sighs. He tightens his arms around Y/N's waist tight and nuzzles his head against Y/N's large bicep.
"Dinner was a wreck. I apparently had an older brother that died. It's such a long story that I still don't even know all of the details to. It was kept a secret from me up until now. Maddie even knew... My parents got onto the topic of jobs. They mentioned the fact that they hear I'm in the hospital a lot. I got upset and said you hear, you never come though. Mom always makes up this bullshit excuse that she, "isn't good with hospitals." She was saying she can never come because she can't deal with seeing her children in hospitals. They move from the topic of jobs and dad breaks out a gift he brought Maddie for Jee. It was a baby box filled with her baby stuff. I get excited thinking, oh hey I'm going to get my own one day. Big shocker, my parents did not save any of my baby stuff. I lost it on them after that. I went on about how they just gave up on both of us then told them the reason I'm in therapy is because of them; because I was just a kid that wanted them to just love me anyways."
Y/N stays quiet for a moment then just hugs Buck even tighter. He has a hand on the back of his head. He quietly says, "You know you didn't deserve any of that, right? You were just a little boy that wanted his mother and father to actually look at him and simply love him. That does not make you the bad person."
Buck tenses up hearing Y/N's words. He feels his eyes start to tear up. He hides his face further into Y/N's chest.
Y/N continues speaking in a soft tone, "You are such a strong man, and I am so god damn proud to call you the man that I love. I have watched you grow so much from the little dorky himbo I knew ten years ago, to the strong, caring, smart, loving man you are today. it has been such a privilege to witness that."
Buck feels his body start to tremble as sobs break throughout his chest. He holds onto Y/N tightly with every fiber in his being. He says in broken sobs, "Do you mean that?"
Y/N nods with zero hesitation. He says in a soft tone, "I will repeat it every single day until the day I die, if I have to Buck."
Y/N softly runs his fingers through his hair and rubs his back. He keeps reassuring him in a soft loving voice, "I got you. You're safe. Let it all out."
There are quiet, genuinely sad whimpers slipping past Buck's lips.
Y/N just keeps consoling him, rubbing his back and kissing his temple till he calms down some. He softly sighs and hugs him tight. He says in a quiet voice, "I wish I could take your pain away baby. I do. I love you to the moon and back."
Buck feels beyond drained, mentally and physically, after the dinner and just finally letting out his feelings from it all. He yawns quietly into Y/N's chest.
Y/N smiles softly, caressing the back of his head. "Get some rest, my love. I'll be right here whenever you wake up."
Buck just melts into Y/N's hold and softly sighs.
It doesn't take long before Buck's dozing off.
It's in this moment that Buck realizes, he doesn't need the acceptance and love of others. The love Y/N has for him is bigger than Mount Everest stacked on every other mountain in the entire world. The safety and love he gets from hearing Y/N's heartbeat within this very moment tells him everything he needs to know. He has the one person who truly loves him for him, underneath him.

The Blanket Of Safety
𖤐Pairing: Father! Alex x Mother! Reader
𖤐Pronouns: She/Her
𖤐Warnings: fluff, language, daddies girl, insecurities, mentions of a bully, yelling,
𖤐Summary: Alex's daughter comes home scared to go back to school because of a bully, so Alex steps in to bring it to the schools attention
————
————
2:30PM
Alex and his wife's daughter Maddie came home, tear stains on her cheeks and her eyes were red. Alex was still at work while Y/n saw her daughter's red face.
"Maddie, baby, what's wrong?" Y/n bends down to her daughters level, cupping her daughter's face.
"where's daddy?" She says, through sniffles.
"He's still at work, baby."
Maddie didn't want to say that there's a bully at school who constantly picks on her, she was scared something may happen. She was always told to tell an adult about bullies but when Maddie brings up a bully to any school adult, she seems to get brushed off.
---------
9:00PM
Maddie was in bed, and Alex just got home. He had a very late night, he usually would get home an hour after Maddie would come home from school, but Price needed him to stay longer.
"Love?" Alex comes into the living room seeing Y/n staring at the black TV screen with a mug of hot tea in her hands, she looks up at Alex with red eyes. "Y/n?" He drops his bag and cups his wife's face.
"S-She's getting bullied, Alex," Y/n's voice cracks.
"Maddie?" She nods in response.
"She said t-this girl in her c-class comes and bullies her f-for no reason, she s-says she brought it up to the p-principal and her teacher, but she gets brushed o-off like she's nothing," Y/n then placed her mug on the coffee table and her head rested on Alex's shoulder.
"I'll go to the school tomorrow and tell the principal," Alex doesn't mess around when it comes to his daughter or his wife.
----------
Alex walks down the hall and saw his daughter's bedroom light still on, Maddie's bedtime was 8:30. He walks to the door and gently pushes it open.
Maddie was coloring, she drops her markers and looks at her dad. She stood up and runs to her daddy. He bends down to her level hugging her.
"Mama, told me what happened," Alex tells her.
Alex proceeds to gently shut the door. Sitting on the floor and Maddie sits on his lap.
"Baby, what does she do?"
"He."
"Huh?"
"It's a boy, daddy."
"Okay...what does he do, baby?" Alex repeats.
"He just picks on me, picks at my hair, eyes, my teeth," Maddie has those bunny teeth, two big front teeth and small teeth surrounding the two front teeth. Of course Alex and Y/n find them cute, but Maddie has now grown insecure about them, not smiling or laughing.
"What do you tell the principal, when you first said something about it?"
"He's a boy...boy's will be boys...he only picks on because he likes you," that pissed Alex off. Alex was raised to be respectful but of course there are those boys who think they're being cute when they pick on people.
"I'll go to the school and put a stop to this okay?"
"Okay, daddy," Maddie says.
Alex then gets an idea, he remembers when his mom did this with him when he was little whenever he was getting bullied in school. He grabs a soft blanket off her bed and wraps her in the blanket earning a soft giggle from her.
"This is the blanket of safety, baby," Alex says.
"Why?" She asks.
"Because when you feel sad, wrap this blanket around you and when the blanket is around you, nothing will happen to you, the blanket will protect you," he smiles. "Words won't hurt you baby."
Alex picks her up and placed her in her bed, moving the covers over her small body, kissing her forehead and giving her an 'I love you' before turning off her lights and shutting the door quietly.
----------
Next Morning (8:40AM)
Maddie held Alex's hand before walking into the school, Alex let's his daughter walk inside and she heads to her classroom as Alex heads to the front office.
"Hello, sir, how can I help you?" The old lady asks behind the desk.
"I'm here to see Mr. Sanders," Alex says in a very, very, serious tone, his tone made the smiling old lady drop her smile when she realized it's something serious.
"Of course, I'll go get him," she says, getting up from her chair and heading to the back to go get the principal.
Soon she came back with Mr. Sanders behind her.
"Mr. Keller, how can I help you?"
"I wanna talk about my daughter and how she's getting bullied," Alex says.
"Of course, let's go talk in my office," Alex follows Mr. Sanders into his office.
"Your daughter is Maddie?"
"Yes..."
"Her so-called bully, Jayden Reyes."
"Oh so, you are aware...what have you done to help put a stop to this?" Alex jumps to the point.
"Mr. Keller, there is nothing for us to stop this-"
"Bullshit."
"I-I'm sorry?"
"Bullshit, he picks on her about her features, makes fun of her, and she has brought this up to you before and your response was, boys will be boys, picking on you means he likes you...that is some bullshit, do you tell every little girl that comes up here talking about getting picked on by a boy? Because if so, you are a shit principal."
"Sir, Mr. Keller, it is a lot of work and paperwork-"
"Woah! Just because it's a lot of paperwork?" Alex's jaw was on the fucking floor. "My 5-year-old comes to you an adult to put a fucking stop to this and your excuses...are shit coming from your ass-"
"Mr. Keller, please do not curse in my school-"
"WHY BECAUSE A FUCKING PRINCIPAL CAN'T DO HIS JOB CORRECTLY!?" Alex yells now.
"Mr. Keller, if I do something what would you like me to do?"
"Either separate them, or pull the little rat to talk to him about picking on people, because if it continues, this was calm, I was being calm, I'll come back and start a fucking riot. Make it stop now, Mr. Sanders," Alex stood up from the chair.
"Anyways...have a good day Mr. Sanders," it was a like switch in Alex's tone. He was calm now, very calm.
-----------
A Few Days Later
Maddie has seem to be a lot better, she smiling, and laughing again. Alex held Maddie on his hip as they stood at the drop off line at the school.
Maddie was kicking some rocks as the doors opened to let the students into the school. Alex kissed Maddie's forehead and let her go.
"Look both ways!" Alex says as Maddie did before running to the schools' sidewalk.
Alex looks at his daughter go inside the school, she walks passed Mr. Sanders and Alex and him made eye contact. Alex gave him a sarcastic smile before heading to his car.
"Asshole," Alex mumbles to himself as he is walking away.
